  • Patent number: 8595448
Abstract: An information handling system includes a multi-core processor that processes variable-length code (VLC) bitstream data. The bitstream data includes multiple codewords for interpretation. The processor includes a general purpose unit (GPU) and a special purpose unit (SPU). The GPU includes GPU buffers and the SPU includes SPU buffers. After populating one GPU buffer with bitstream data, the processor populates another GPU buffer with subsequent bitstream data. The processor may populate the GPU buffers in alternating fashion. The processor populates one SPU buffer with bitstream data while parsing bitstream data in the other SPU buffer. The GPU of the processor populates the SPU buffers in alternating fashion. The size of the GPU buffers may be a multiple of the size of the SPU buffers. After the SPU buffers consume the bitstream data from one GPU buffer, the other GPU buffer transfers its bitstream data to the SPU buffers for parsing.

  • Publication number: 20130305063
Abstract: An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) device for providing a DC operating power to operate a motherboard is disclosed. The UPS device includes a main power supply system, a backup power supply system and a disable control unit. In a normal condition, the main power supply system converts and outputs a first DC standby power to the motherboard. The backup power supply system outputs a second DC standby power to the motherboard when the main power supply system is incapable of normally outputting the first DC standby power. The disable control unit receives a power supply-off signal outputted by the motherboard in a power-off state to generate a disable signal to the backup power supply system. In response to the disable signal, the backup power supply system stops outputting the second DC standby power to the motherboard.

  • Patent number: 8542001
Abstract: In a power circuit for reducing standby power consumption, a power supply is defined to include a primary power system and a stationary power system. The stationary power system outputs a stationary power after obtaining an input power. A control unit controls ON/OFF of the primary power system, obtains the stationary power as the required power, and receives a PS ON/OFF signal for triggering the control unit, so that the control unit controls the primary power system to supply a primary output power. The power supply includes a switch unit having two ends connected to a power circuit for outputting the stationary power and a virtual load respectively. The PS ON/OFF signal is provided for controlling the switch unit. If the switch unit does not receive the PS ON/OFF signal, it is OFF in a standby mode to avoid unnecessary power consumption of the virtual load.

  • Publication number: 20130233176
Abstract: A coffee maker capable of stopping returning steam includes a grinding unit, a guiding unit, and a brewing unit. A conduit extends laterally from a container disposed at a lower portion of the grinding unit and adapted to hold the coffee particles. The conduit has an outlet corresponding in position to an opening formed on a cover portion at a top of the brewing unit. A decelerating motor is disposed at the cover portion. An axle of the decelerating motor is coupled to a lid. When the coffee particles exit the grinding unit and enter the brewing unit via the conduit to accumulate in the brewing unit to a preset quantity level, the decelerating motor drives the lid to shut the opening. Hence, high-temperature steam introduced into the brewing unit for brewing coffee is prevented from entering the grinding unit to wet the residual coffee particles therein.
