    Abstract: A power line communication driver circuit drives a power communication line with a power line communication signal that supplies both power and control data to a plurality of electronic devices. The power line communication driver circuit includes a ramp generator that receives an input signal encoding digital data and generates a ramp signal that switches between a low non-zero ramp voltage and a high ramp voltage to encode the digital data. The power line communication driver circuit furthermore includes a buffer circuit that receives and buffers the ramp signal to generate the power line communication signal. In one application, the power line communication driver circuit may drive a group of zone integrated circuits that include driver circuits for driving respective LED zones of a display device.

    Abstract: A vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) device includes a substrate, a first mirror layer, an active layer, an oxide layer, a second mirror layer, a tunnel junction layer and a third mirror layer sequentially stacked with one another. The first mirror layer and the third mirror layer are N-type distributed Bragg reflectors (N-DBR), and the second mirror layer is P-type distributed Bragg reflector (P-DBR). The tunnel junction layer is provided for the VCSEL device to convert a part of the P-DBR into N-DBR to reduce the series resistance of the VCSEL device, and the tunnel junction layer is not used as current-limiting apertures. This disclosure further discloses a VCSEL device manufacturing method with the in-situ and one-time epitaxy features to avoid the risk of process variation caused by moving the device into and out from an epitaxial cavity.

    Abstract: An object counting system crops images into multiple split images. When a distance between at least one side of a bounding box being associated with a position of a first object in the first split image and at least one side of a bounding box being associated with a position of a second object in the second split image adjacent to the first split image is less than a tolerance value, the processor combines the adjacent first split image and the second split second split image into a merged image, so that the first object and the second object are merged into a merged object. A processor calculates a prediction number of objects based on the objects contained in these split images and the merged objects in the merged image. The object counting system automatically counts the number of bug eggs, to save manpower and provide an accurate count.
