    Abstract: An enclosure (100) for a portable electronic device includes: a panel (120) having a number of tabs (1231), and defining a lock hole (129) bounded by an inner wall (1291); a housing (150) having a number of tab slots (156) corresponding to the tabs of the panel; and a handle (130) configured to fit in the lock hole. The panel is attached on the housing by the tabs being received in the corresponding tab slots, and the handle is contained in the lock hole and is rotatably connected to the inner wall. Thus the handle can be opened or closed relative to the panel. A user can manually rotate the handle to the open position and then pull up the panel using the handle. There is no need for a special tool, making it convenient to change the panel.

    Abstract: A hinge assembly (10) includes a tubular hinge housing (11) encasing a follower member (14), a cam (13) and a spring (12) in an interior space thereof. The follower member has a connector (141), a shaft (143), and a cylindrical portion (142) having a flat surface (1421) and at least one tab (1424) formed on the flat surface. The cam forms at least one peak (1321) and one valley (1322) thereon. The cam and the spring are respectively inserted over the follower member. Wherein the cam is sildably engaged in the hinge housing, and is rotatably and sildably coupled to the shaft of the follower member so that the tab of the follower member is received in the valley of the cam. An insert member (15) is inserted into the interior space of the tubular hinge housing for retaining the follower member therein.

    Abstract: A hinge assembly includes a housing (1) encasing a spring (2), a cam follower (3), a cam member (4), and a washer (5) therein. The cam follower has a shaft (31) and a pair of tabs (32) perpendicularly formed on the shaft. The spring is coiled over the shaft and is compressively engaged in the housing. The tabs of the cam follower slip in a groove (13) of the housing. The cam member includes a cam portion (43) and a connector (41). The cam portion forms a pair of peaks (46) and a pair of valleys (44) being engaged with the tabs of the cam follower. The connector extends outside of the housing. The washer is rotatablely inserted over the connector, and is fitted in the housing for fixing the hinge components in the housing.

    Abstract: A connecting mechanism for a battery case and a main body of a portable electronic device includes a main body (10), a connecting member (20), a cover (30), and a shaft (40). The main body has a receptacle (162), and a recessed portion (192) for receiving the battery case. The connecting member has a body (22) and one or more mounting portions (24). The cover defines a sliding space. The shaft extends through the mounting portions and is received in the receptacle. Thus the connecting member is rotatable relative to the main body about the shaft. The connecting member is received in the sliding space and can slide along the sliding space relative to the cover. Thus the cover is both rotatable and slidable relative to the main body, and need not be detached from the main body.
