Abstract: The present disclosure includes methods, devices, modules, and systems for operating semiconductor memory. One method embodiment includes determining a status of a page of memory cells without using input/output (I/O) circuitry, and outputting the status through the I/O circuitry.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus facilitate data streaming in bulk storage devices by generating linked lists containing entries for both user data and metadata. These linked lists containing mixed data types facilitate receiving and outputting user data, and to insert or ignore, respectively, metadata corresponding to that user data without interrupting flow of the user data.

Abstract: Memory modules and methods of operating memory modules embed mapping information within blocks of memory cells to which the mapping information pertains. In particular, when a page is written for a logical data block, that page includes a snapshot of the current mapping information for that logical data block. In this manner, the last valid physical page of a logical data block will contain a physical/logical mapping of that block. Thus, instead of scanning every valid page of the memory device to rebuild the mapping information, the memory module may scan only for the last valid physical page of each logical data block. Once the last valid physical page is discovered for a logical data block, the latest mapping information for that logical data block may be read from that page.

Abstract: An open loop power control method for setting a transmit power of mobile station (22) during a handoff from a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) service to a circuit switched service sets a transmit power of the mobile station based upon a power level associated with the VoIP call. A disclosed example includes using an average power level of a reverse pilot channel of the VoIP call and correction factors based upon forward link and reverse link parameters during the VoIP call.

Abstract: A wireless communication network (20) includes a power control technique that includes repeating an erasure indicator bit in a transmission from a mobile station (22) to a base station (24, 30, 36). The repeated erasure indicator bit is transmitted on the uplink to each base station. The base station then uses the majority rule of those repeated erasure indicator bits to adjust its transmit power. It results in a desired power control command corresponding to the quality of a downlink between a base station (24, 30, 36) and the mobile station (22). A disclosed example includes using the repeated error indicator bit for deciding whether a recent frame should be considered an erasure. If so, the base station increases power on the downlink forward channel. If not, the base station decreases the transmit power on the downlink forward channel. A disclosed example includes alternative power control adjustment techniques, depending on the recent history of the quality of the downlink.

Abstract: An access director provides a gateway for customer premise based equipment (both wired and wireless) and a wireless port facility to a narrowband/broadband information distribution network. It provides a portable narrowband duplex synchronous and isochronous telephony service and concurrent broad fixed location dodwn link from network to customer isochronous service. The down link broadband service may be combined with narrowband up link service to provide non-symmetric duplex operation or services such as interactive video.
