Publication number: 20180311016Abstract: A regeneration membrane is provided for dentistry. The traditional thin collagen is turned into a flowable and shapeable collagen gel. A photo-crosslinking agent (i.e. riboflavin (vitamin B2)) is added in a biomedical-level collagen gel to obtain the shapeable collagen gel. The shapeable collagen gel is filled in a pre-filled syringe. The shapeable collagen gel is squeezed to a destined position for paving and shaping. Then, crosslinking is processed through UV illumination for curing. Flowability is achieved for applying. After applying, solidification is finished through illumination to turn liquid into solid. Thus, a regeneration membrane is formed with biological tolerance.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 28, 2017Publication date: November 1, 2018Inventors: Ming-Yuan Shao, Chih-Hsien Lin

Publication number: 20140302404Abstract: Electrolytes for Mg-based energy storage devices can be formed from non-nucleophilic Mg2+ sources to provide outstanding electrochemical performance and improved electrophilic susceptibility compared to electrolytes employing nucleophilic sources. The instant electrolytes are characterized by high oxidation stability (up to 3.4 V vs Mg), improved electrophile compatibility and electrochemical reversibility (up to 100% coulombic efficiency). Synthesis of the Mg2+ electrolytes utilizes inexpensive and safe magnesium dihalides as non-nucleophilic Mg2+ sources in combination with Lewis acids, MRaX3-a (for 3?a?1). Furthermore, addition of free-halide-anion donors can improve the coulombic efficiency of Mg electrolytes from nucleophilic or non-nucleophilic Mg2+ sources.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 19, 2013Publication date: October 9, 2014Applicant: BATTELLE MEMORIAL INSTITUTEInventors: Tianbiao Liu, Guosheng Li, Jun Liu, Yuan Shao

Patent number: 7072836Abstract: A speech recognition method and apparatus is disclosed in which each utterance matched to a feature model within a feature model memory (110) is associated with a confidence score indicative of the posterior probability of the word being correctly matched, given that the matching of the utterance to the feature model generated certain values indicative of the goodness of the match. The confidence score for the matching of an utterance to a feature model is determined from the generated values indicative of the goodness of the match and a stored set of parameters indicating the probability of the generated values arising given that a match is either correct or incorrect.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 2001Date of Patent: July 4, 2006Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Yuan Shao

Patent number: 7054817Abstract: A computer system is provided including a control module 20 and data collection module 22 which generate user interfaces enabling a user to identify a vocabulary and a number of speakers from whom utterances are to be obtained. The data collection module 22 then co-ordinates the collection of utterance data for the words in the vocabulary from these speakers and stores the data in a speaker database 24. When a satisfactory set of utterances have been collected the utterances are passed to a model generation module 25 which generates a speech model using the utterances. The speech model is stored by the model generation module 25 in a model database 26. The generated model stored within the model database 26 can then be tested using a testing module 27 and other utterances stored within the speaker database 24. If the performance of the model is unsatisfactory further or different utterances can be used to generate new models for storage within the model database 26.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 2002Date of Patent: May 30, 2006Assignee: Canon Europa N.V.Inventor: Yuan Shao

The data collection module 22 then co-ordinates the collection of utterance data for the words in the vocabulary from these speakers and stores the data in a speaker database 24. When a satisfactory set of utterances have been collected the utterances are passed to a modal generation module 25 which generates a speech model using the utterances. The speech model is stored by the model generation module 25 in a model database 26. The generated model stored within the model database 26 can then be tested using a testing module 27 and other utterances stored within the speaker database 24. Publication number: 20030139932Abstract: A control apparatus (2) has a user interface manager (21;22) having at least one interface module (215,214,213,216,211;221,222,223,224) adapted to receive data for a corresponding user interface mode. A dialogue manager (201) associated with a dialogue interpreter (202) is arrange to conduct a dialogue with the user in accordance with mark-up language document files supplied to the dialogue conductor. In an embodiment, the control apparatus determines any user interface mode or modes specified by a received mark-up language document, determines whether the user interface manager has an interface module for the specified user interface mode or modes and, if not, obtains an interface module for that interface mode. In another embodiment, the mark-up language document files supplied to the user interface manager specify a type and/or accuracy or confidence level for the interface mode and the control apparatus selects the interface module or modules to be used on the basis of this information.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2002Publication date: July 24, 2003Inventors: Yuan Shao, Uwe Helmut Jost
