  • Patent number: 10560229
Abstract: Devices and methods of providing symmetric UL and DL ACK/NACKs is generally described. UL ACK/NACKs of different UEs are multiplexed and received by a UE with a PUSCH. The receiving UE in response transmits the DL ACK/NACK. The ACK/NACK may be transmitted in a localized or distributed manner among subbands that may be adjacent or each may have blocks separated by blocks of a different subband. The ACK and NACK may use independent resources or the NACK may not be transmitted on the single ACK/NACK resource, the lack of an ACK serving as a NACK. The ACK/NACK may be transmitted using a beamforming weight shaped by the received PUSCH/PDSCH. The ACK/NACK symbol may be located in the first symbol, adjacent to the PUSCH/PDSCH, or at the end of a TTI. If adjacent, the UL grant or UL assignment may indicate whether the ACK/NACK resource is used by the PUSCH/PDSCH.

  • Publication number: 20200045651
Abstract: A UE may estimate the power headroom value when using shortened Transmission Time Intervals (sTTI). In one implementation, the power headroom value may be calculated based on an estimation of the UE transmission power over two or seven OFDM symbols. Alternatively or additionally, the power headroom value may be calculated based on an estimation of the UE transmission power over the period of an sTTI. Alternatively or additionally, the power headroom value may be calculated based on an average of the UE transmission power over multiple sTTI periods in a subframe. Alternatively or additionally, the power headroom value may be calculated based on a maximum or minimum of the UE transmission power measured over multiple sTTI periods in a subframe. Alternatively or additionally, the power headroom value may be calculated based on UE transmission power measured in the first or the last sTTI period in a subframe.

  • Publication number: 20200021632
Abstract: Techniques for facilitating device-to-device (D2D) communications using a high efficiency distributed channel access scheme are generally described herein. In some examples, a communication zone allocated for wireless D2D communications is divided into resource contention and scheduled transmission portions. The resource contention segment may be used to transmit a request message from a transmitting device to a receiving device (a request-to-send message), and transmit a response to the request message from the receiving device to the transmitting device (a clear-to-send message). The response can indicate a time for the data transmission to occur during the scheduled transmission segment. During the scheduled transmission segment, the scheduled data transmission and other D2D data transmissions among the various devices will be performed. In further examples, contention access techniques may be used during the resource contention segment to manage access to the resource channel.

  • Publication number: 20190394741
Abstract: User equipment performs autonomous time adjustment that includes selecting a Timing Error Limit (i.e. Te_NR) and Maximum Autonomous Time Adjustment Step (i.e. Tq_NR) based on bandwidth (BW) and subcarrier spacing (SCS). In one embodiment, given a certain downlink BW, if the SCS=x(kHz) and the Te_NR of this SCS is N, then the Te_NR of SCS=x/2(kHz) is 2*N. Given a certain downlink BW, if the SCS=x(kHz) and the Te_NR of this SCS is N, then the Te_NR of SCS=2*x(kHz) is N/2. For example, given BW=10 MHz, if the Te_NR of SCS=30k Hz is n*Ts_NR (TS_NR is the basic timing unit for NR system), then the Te_NR of SCS=60 kHz is N/2*Ts_NR, and the Te_NR of SCS=15 kHz is 2*N*Ts_NR.
