  • Patent number: 8224323
Abstract: Techniques and systems that provide timer based registration for efficiently registering access terminals with a wireless network are described. A timer is provided for an access terminal to register with the network. When the timer expires, the access terminal performs a timer based registration process if a currently serving base station is not the same as a base station that serves the access terminal when the access terminal completes the last timer based registration process, and avoids performing another timer based registration process if the currently serving base station is the same as a base station that serves the access terminal when the access terminal completes the last timer based registration process. The access terminal resets the timer if the currently serving base station is the same as a base station that served the access terminal when the access terminal completes the last timer based registration process.

  • Publication number: 20120176901
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for notifying a load-adjustment factor, including: a base station setting a load-adjustment factor of a sector and notifying a user terminal. The present invention also discloses a method for selecting and determining Data Rate Control (DRC) pointing, including: when selecting a sector which a DRC points towards, a user terminal calculating a difference value by deducting the received load-adjustment factor of the sector sent by a base station, from the measured signal measurement strength of the sector; the user terminal determining whether to point the DRC towards the sector according to the signal measurement strength resulted from the deduction.

  • Publication number: 20120172034
Abstract: The present invention provides a terminal and method for an idle handoff based on a High Rate Packet Data (HRPD) system. The method includes, when the terminal switches from the HRPD system to a non-HRPD radio access technology system, an HRPD protocol stack of the terminal migrating from a non-tunnel state to a tunnel state. When the terminal is in a handoff area, and performs the idle handoff from the HRPD system to the non-HRPD radio access technology system, the terminal after the handoff is in the tunnel state, and the HRPD session information of the terminal is reserved. Thus, when the terminal switches back to the HRPD system, it is not necessary to perform the HRPD session negotiation again, thereby effectively avoiding the waste of air interface resources and system processing capabilities, and improving efficiency of interconnection and intercommunication between the HRPD system and other radio access technology system.

  • Publication number: 20120149373
Abstract: Techniques, apparatuses, and systems for redirecting mobile services include generating a message with a redirection indication and transmitting the message to one or more mobile stations. A redirection indication can include an identifier for a wireless network operator and access information for a network associated with the wireless network operator.

  • Publication number: 20120034910
Abstract: Wireless communication techniques are provided to receive a service priority scheme selection and determine, during reception of a first service, whether or not to switch to a second service, based on the received service priority scheme selection. Devices, systems and methods can be configured to implement the techniques for service priority scheme selection.

  • Publication number: 20120028661
Abstract: Techniques, apparatuses, and systems include mechanisms for interworking circuit service fallback. In one implementation, a system for wireless communications can include one or more first base stations forming a first radio access network to provide wireless communications based on a first wireless technology; one or more second base stations forming a second radio access network to provide wireless communications based on a second wireless technology which is different from the first wireless technology, and an interworking service (IWS) module that is configured to provide the interworking between the first and second radio access networks for communications to a wireless device served by the system via either the first wireless technology or the second wireless technology, and uses a signal adaptation protocol to encapsulate messages in communicating with a wireless device served by the system. Other implementations are also provided in this document.

  • Publication number: 20110274089
Abstract: An active handover method and terminal based on the HRPD system are disclosed by the present invention. The method comprises that: a terminal receives an active handover command, wherein if a virtual connection has existed, the virtual connection is disconnected; and if a virtual connection is being established, the establishment process of the virtual connection is terminated; and High Rate Packet Data air interface connection is established. With the method, processing of the access terminal and the access network is specified, and the problem of long-time interruption in the service of the terminal is solved, processing efficiency of the access terminal and the access network can be improved, thereby improving the processing efficiency of the whole system.
