    Abstract: The disclosure provides a method and system for realizing power saving mechanism management between an Optical Network Unit (ONU) and an Optical Line Terminal (OLT). The method includes: passing power saving information between the ONU and the OLT through an extended Operation Administration and Maintenance (OAM) frame; closing/opening an optical module of the ONU based on the obtained power saving information. With the method of the disclosure, the optical module is closed in time when the optical module of the ONU is not needed, thus reducing power consumption of the ONU, and enabling interaction between the ONU and the OLT to meet the requirement for power saving and emission reduction.

    Abstract: Disclosed in the present invention are an alarm processing method and device for a PON system in power-saving mode, for solving the technical problem that the PON system cannot process the alarm or exception message after the ONU enters power-saving state and the management server is misled to deem that the system is abnormal. In the present invention, when the OLT detects the alarm generated for a certain ONU, it acquires the current power-saving working state of the ONU, and if the ONU is currently in power-saving state (such as doze state, i.e. Tx mode), the OLT suppresses, discards or shields the relevant alarm by the ONU currently in power-saving state. By way of the present invention, the alarm processing pressure can be alleviated and the real state of the ONU can be reflected.

The present invention also discloses a device for processing broadcast packets/multicast control messages. In accordance with the present invention, efficient processing of downlink broadcast packets and multicast control messages is realized when different types of ONUs coexist, unnecessary interference with ONUs from excessive data is avoided, and meanwhile the bandwidth between an OLT and an ONU can be utilized efficiently and meaningless bandwidth occupation by data streams can be avoided.
