    Abstract: The present invention discloses a method, an apparatus and a system for low-density parity-check (LDPC) coding and decoding. The coding method includes the following steps: constructing each layer of a check matrix of a layered LDPC code used as an error correcting code; when data is initially sent by a data transmitting terminal, performing first-layer-coding of the data to be sent by using the first layer of a check matrix of the LDPC code, sending the first-layer-coded data; when data for (n?1)th retransmission is sent by the data transmitting terminal, performing nth-layer-coding of the data by using the nth layer of a check matrix of the LDPC code, sending the nth-layer-coded data, wherein n is an integer no less than 2. It is possible to reduce the system overhead, decrease the decoding delay, and improve the decoding performance by using the technical solution of the present invention which is also adapted to high-speed data services.

    Abstract: A method is disclosed for performing a handoff in a telecommunication system. The method comprises: performing a first multi-cell joint detection process for decoding the communications within the home cell when a mobile terminal enters a handoff region between a home cell and one or more neighboring cells; performing a handoff process when the mobile terminal is in the home cell to join a target neighboring cell; and performing a second multi-cell joint detection process for decoding the communications between the mobile terminal and the target neighboring cell. In this manner, decoding for uplink and/or downlink communications is improved, and throughout and performance of the telecommunication system is enhanced.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses a cell handoff method and a UE based on a TDD system. A UE measures received pilot channels of a source cell and a neighboring cell according to a measurement control message and reports measurement result to a RNC. The RNC, determines whether a target cell to be subject to a cell handoff process has available resources at a time slot different from that of the source cell and if yes, transmits a cell handoff command to the UE, allocates available resources for the UE in the target cell and transmits traffic carrier data of the UE to the source cell and the target cell respectively. After receiving the cell handoff command, the UE communicates with the source cell and the target cell at a same frame and at same time according to the allocated available resources.
