Patent number: 12201892Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for fastening components of equipment, specifically a skateboard, among other types of sporting boards or sports apparatuses or wheeled sporting apparatuses. Fastening systems disclosed herein may be utilized to couple a deck of a skateboard to a truck of a skateboard. The fastening systems may reduce the need for a tool (e.g., a hex drive or other tool) that might typically be utilized to engage a head of a fastener to hold the fastener in place while a securement body (e.g., a nut) is coupled to the fastener.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2022Date of Patent: January 21, 2025Assignee: Mesa Distribution, Inc.Inventors: Joseph Pulsifer, Yuche Su

Publication number: 20240115926Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for fastening components of equipment, for example, a skateboard or a roller skate, among other types of sporting boards, sports apparatuses, or wheeled sporting apparatuses. Fastening systems disclosed herein may be utilized to couple a skateboard truck to a skateboard deck. The fastening systems may add a high level of stability and durability to the coupling or the anchoring of, e.g., a kingpin to a baseplate on the skateboard truck. For example, the high level of stability and durability to the coupling or the anchoring may be achieved via a sleeve (e.g., a flanged sleeve) that is formed of high-strength material and press-fit into an aperture on the skateboard truck baseplate.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 9, 2023Publication date: April 11, 2024Inventors: Yuche Su, Joseph Pulsifer

Patent number: 8827285Abstract: A wheel axle fixing structure of a skateboard is provided for overcoming the drawbacks of a conventional coupling structure between a mounting bracket and a wheel axle of a skateboard and includes a mounting bracket, a wheel axle, and a fixing collar. The mounting bracket has an axle receiving hole that includes two internal threading sections having threads of opposite directions (such as forward thread and backward thread). The wheel axle has an axle external threading section and is fit to the fixing collar that has a collar external threading section. The axle external threading section and a collar external threading section are respectively screwed to the two internal threading sections having threads of opposite directions. The opposite directions of the threads at the two threaded sections provides tightening effects in opposite direction so that one threaded section getting loosened help more securely tighten the other threaded section.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2013Date of Patent: September 9, 2014Inventor: Yuche Su

Patent number: 8757647Abstract: A skateboard includes a support bracket mounted to an underside of the skateboard, a retention ring, and a wheel axle to which wheels are mounted. The support bracket has an axle hole that includes an internally threaded section and a groove. The retention ring is capable of elastic deformation. The wheel axle has an end that includes an externally threaded section and a retention slot. Through the threading engagement between the internally threaded section and the externally threaded section, the end of the wheel axle is fastened in the axle hole. With the retention ring retained between the groove and the retention slot by having a portion of the ring received in the groove and another portion received in the retention slot, the end of the wheel axle is retained in the axle hole without axial movement.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 2013Date of Patent: June 24, 2014Inventor: Yuche Su
