The apparatus includes a performance event record generation component for generating a performance event record according to the system clock for a performance event monitored in the data processing system and a performance event record storage component for storing the performance event record generated by the performance event record generation component. The method in a data processing system according to the present invention includes the steps of: generating a performance event record based on the system clock for a performance event monitored in the data processing system; storing the generated performance event record; and arbitrating the storage conflict when multiple performance event records are generated at the same time in the step of generating a performance event record, in order to determine the storage order of the performance event records.

When a user points the client device he/she to an object, it can receive the electromagnetic wave from that exhibited item. Then, the client device obtains a channel identification from that electromagnetic wave, and establishes a connection with an information delivery sub-system based on the obtained channel identification to obtain information about that exhibited item from the channel and to render that information.

Abstract: A novel method and system for enhancing user experience when switching channel in digital video broadcasting system is proposed. The invention proposes a server-based cache mechanism which caches all channels simultaneously in a cache server near from the video playing terminal. The channel switch latency could be heavily reduced since the initial part of the current GOP of any channel could be retrieved from the cache server, therefore the user experience is improved greatly.
