  • Publication number: 20180109811
Abstract: Reducing error in a reconstructed frame is described. Pixels of the frame are classified into classes based on a classification scheme. Offset values for each class of at least some of the classes are determined, and a respective offset value for a class is applied to each pixel of the class, resulting in offset-adjusted pixels for the class. For the classes, a respective error rate reduction in using the respective offset value for a class as compared to omitting the respective offset value is determined, where the respective error rate reduction is based on the pixels of the class in the reconstructed frame, the offset-adjusted pixels of the class, and co-located source pixels in a source frame decoded to generate the reconstructed frame. A subset of classes is selected for reducing error in the reconstructed frame based on the error rate reductions.

  • Publication number: 20180100389
Abstract: Hydraulic fracturing of a geological formation is performed by injection of a proppant mixture into the geological formation to form fractures in the geological formation. The proppant mixture includes at least a liquid, proppant, and proppant additive particles. The hydraulic fracturing results in a presence of the proppant additive particles within the formed fractures, wherein the proppant additive particles are configured with a first complex conductivity that is measurably different than a second complex conductivity exhibited by materials comprising the geological formation. The formed fractures can then be imaged and mapped in the geological formation with electromagnetic energy at one or more frequencies in a manner so that the proppant additive particles function as a contrast agent due to the first complex conductivity of the proppant additive particles being measurably different from the second complex conductivity.

  • Publication number: 20180098725
Abstract: Many electrodes are positioned inside a skull for obtaining several electric voltage variation wave information. A processing unit computes subtract operation between two neighboring electrical voltage variation wave information respectively and then can obtain electrical voltage difference waves. Furthermore, each electrical voltage difference wave is separated into a first band wave signal and a second band wave signal. After which, several first band wave envelope signals and second band wave envelope signals are obtained. It conducts a co-relation processing about the first band wave envelope signals and the second band wave envelope signals. So, a co-relation table is obtained for determining a position where an intracranial brain wave abnormality occurs. In this invention, a unique scientific approach to determine the spatial position of seizure onset occurred inside the brain. In addition, the position of intracranial brain wave abnormality can be concretized and visualized by the co-relation table.
