    Abstract: Scrap plant or plant-based materials are processed to form an engineered structure, or a portion thereof. An assembly of individual strands of scrap material can be provided, with the fiber directions of the strands within the assembly being substantially aligned. The assembly of scrap material strands can be subjected to one or more chemical treatments that modify a property of the lignin in and/or partially remove the lignin from the individual scrap material strands. The alignment of the fiber directions can be maintained during the chemical treatment(s). The chemically-treated assembly can be compressed to form a densified piece of scrap material, for example, having enhanced mechanical properties.

A profile script is generated based on the corresponding metadata, the profile script is generated to include one or more editing actions to be performed on a section of the video that corresponds to at least one identified clip from the number of clips. An editing tool is used to automatically edit the video based on the profile script to generate an edited video.

    Abstract: A gas sensing system measures a concentration of first and second gasses in a gas sample disposed in a cavity containing a porous scattering material. The first and second gas each have an absorption peak at a different wavelength. First and second emitters emit light having a spectrum that includes one of the different wavelengths. A single sensor, or multiple sensors, detect at least some of the light emitted by the first and second emitters. A processor determines concentration of the first and second gases from signals from the sensor that indicate intensities of the light from the first and second emitters. When a single sensor is used, the first and second emitters are driven, and the sensor signal detected, at different times. When multiple sensors are used, the sensors detect signals at one of the absorption peaks.

The plasma is described by the nonextensive statistical mechanics and establishes a nonextensive single electric probe theory on the basis of this. The electron nonextensive parameter have been measured which cannot be measured by traditional single probe, and obtained more accurate electron temperature, plasma potential, electron density and floating potential than traditional single probe. The nonextensive electric probe plays a role in plasma diagnosis, which will measure the nonextensivity of plasma and improve the diagnostic accuracy of other plasma parameters.

The preparation method comprises ethanol-trypsin pretreatment of Ganoderma lucidum fruiting body in combination with ultrasonic-assisted alkaline hydrothermal extraction of ?-glucan from Ganoderma lucidum, and purifying ?-glucan by DEAE Sephadex A-25 Sephadex column chromatography using NAOH solution as a mobile phase, to obtain high purity (?90%) of Ganoderma lucidum ?-glucan. The detection method comprises placing the extracted ?-glucan in an autoclave and performing hydrolysis with ?-(1,3)-exo-glucanase and ?-glucosidase, and detecting and analyzing the content of the prepared ?-glucan by high pressure-acid enzymatic hydrolysis-HPLC method, using glucose as a standard. The preparation method of ?-glucan has high extraction ratio.
