  • Publication number: 20060136560
Abstract: The present invention provides a message and system forwarding messages sent to a subscriber address in a forwarding service, wherein the forwarding is done to at least one forward-to address associated with the subscriber address. The present invention maintains a record of subscriber addresses and associated forward-to addresses in a forwarding-associations database and updates a location-information database to redirect messages to a forwarding service address, if the messages are addressed to the subscriber address. The redirected messages are sent to at least one forward-to address associated with the subscriber address using the forwarding-associations database.

  • Publication number: 20060135160
Abstract: The present invention presents a system and method for attempting to register a subscriber to a Home Public Mobile Network (HPMN), wherein the subscriber is in a region having multiple overlapping wireless cellular networks. The invention detects potential registration of the subscriber with a Neighboring visited Public Mobile Network (NPMN), although the HPMN may be present in the region, in response to a registration request from the NPMN and attempts a pre-defined number of rejections upon successful detection.

  • Publication number: 20060133590
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method of providing a Missed Call Alert (MCA) for a missed call to a first device in a first telecommunications network, wherein the MCA is provided to a second device in a second telecommunications network. The method comprises forwarding a call missed by the first device to a forwarding address in the second telecommunications network, and obtaining missed call details from the forwarded call at the second telecommunications network. The missed call details comprise the calling party address and the address of the first device. The method further comprises identifying the address of the second device, wherein the second device is associated with the first device, and alerting the second device of the missed call to the first device.

  • Publication number: 20050233740
Abstract: Inbound Roamer Multimedia Messaging Systems (“IRMMS”) are described that transfer Welcome Multimedia Messages (“MM”) (“WMM”) or Welcome Roaming Content (“WRC”) to devices of inbound roamers. The IRMMS transfers MMs to inbound roamers without involving components of the corresponding home network (HPMN). The MMs include text messages, music clips, voice clips, video clips, photographs, and drawings, but are not so limited. Use of the IRMMS eliminates payment by a VPMN with which a subscriber is roaming to the subscriber's HPMN because components of the HPMN are not included in the transfer of the MMs. Thus, charges typically incurred by the VPMN for transmission of free WMM/WRC sent to the inbound roamer via the HPMN are avoided.

  • Publication number: 20050192035
Abstract: A SIMM System and method is provided that supports many Mobile Subscriber Integrated Service Digital Network (MSISDN) numbers on a mobile device. The mobile device includes one Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) and one International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI). The SIMM system includes at least one signal gateway that supports the use of numerous MSISDN numbers by the mobile device. The signal gateway couples among components of the public mobile networks to which the MSISDN numbers correspond. The signal gateway connects calls between the mobile device and a first public mobile network using a first MSISDN where, for example, the first public mobile network is in a first country. Likewise, the signal gateway connects calls between the mobile device and a second public mobile network using a second MSISDN where, for example, the second public mobile network is in a second country.

  • Publication number: 20050186950
Abstract: A method and system for telephone number portability between fixed line networks and wireless networks. Embodiments include porting a number between a fixed line operator (“FLO”) and a mobile operator (“MO”). Embodiments include a Service Control Point (“SCP”) that communicates with the FLO and the MO to facilitate number porting. Embodiments support a direct ISUP connection between the FLO network and the MO network, or the lack thereof. Embodiments include routing a call to a fixed-line phone on a per subscriber basis first before the call is routed to the wireless network under certain conditions (e.g. no-answer of the fixed-line phone). In one embodiment, a special forwarding number is applied as an indicator for a ported number.

  • Publication number: 20050186960
Abstract: Integrated Cellular Voice over Internet Protocol (“VoIP”) systems (“ICV systems”) are described that redirect or reroute wireless network voice and data traffic to roaming subscribers via VoIP networks. The ICV system monitors roaming links of a first communication system. The first communication system may include a home network and a visited network. The ICV system detects a mobile device registering with the visited network. The ICV system receives location information corresponding to a location of the mobile device and selects a routing number corresponding to the location. The ICV system uses the selected routing number to transfer calls received at the home network to the mobile device via a second communication system.

  • Publication number: 20050075106
Abstract: A method and apparatus for a Multiple IMSI Multiple/Single MSISDN (MIMM/MISM) on Multiple SIMs service for a single mobile communications network operator. In one embodiment, a system includes a Signaling Gateway that includes a MIMM/MISM application. Embodiments include a designating a set of subscriber identity modules (SIMs) for a subscriber, wherein the set of SIMs is registered to the subscriber; and wherein the set of SIMs comprises multiple SIMs, each of which is useable in one or more mobile communication devices, and each of which comprises a different international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI). Embodiments further include configuring the set of SIMs and the network such that the subscriber presents a uniform appearance to entities communicating with the subscriber regardless of which SIM is used for the communication, wherein the subscriber can simultaneously carry on a voice call on one SIM and carry on a data session on another SIM.
