The display device includes a first substrate, the first substrate being provided with a first relief groove, a second substrate, the second substrate being provided with a second relief groove, and a sealant. The sealant is sandwiched between the first substrate and the second substrate so as to seal the first substrate and the second substrate. Furthermore, the sealant is spaced apart from outer edges of the first substrate and the second substrate. The first relief groove is located between the sealant and the outer edge of the first substrate, and the second relief groove is located between the sealant and the outer edge of the second substrate.
