  • Patent number: 8688829
Abstract: The method for binding a sensor and an actuator can be categorized into three types: manual binding, automatic binding and semi-automatic binding. Manual binding methods increase users' operational burden when a great number of sensors and actuators are to be bound. The current hard-coded automatic binding method suffers from lack of versatility. The template-based semi-automatic binding method still requires users to input some information manually. The disclosure provides an automatic binding method, which can automatically and reasonably bind the functions of a sensor and an actuator without user input, in a sensor network comprising a plurality of sensors and actuators.

  • Patent number: 8213362
Abstract: A method for a new node to join an ad-hoc network is provided. The method includes two basic functions. When the new node is allowed to join the network, the indicating device of the node being joined generates an indication. When the new node joins the network, the indicating device of the new node also generates an indication. The method further includes two commands, the join-rejection command and the joined-rejection command, to cancel the join procedure when the indicating device of the new node and the node being joined do not indicate correspondingly. Accordingly, the method efficiently reduces the possibility of joining an unanticipated node.

  • Patent number: 8102315
Abstract: An algorithm of collecting and constructing training location data is provided as it is applied to a test space of a plurality of beacons and training locations. The signal patterns of beacons adjacent to each training location are detected. The signal pattern is converted into a signal vector and each signal vector is integrated for calculating a feature vector of each training location. The coordinate and the feature vector of each training location, after being recorded, are introduced into a numerical data fitting model for constructing the signal pattern function of each beacon. For positioning, the current signal patterns of the beacons adjacent to the user location are detected and converted to a discriminant function. Thereafter, the minimum of the discriminant function is computed so as to find the position of the user location.

  • Publication number: 20110148711
Abstract: A communication system for supporting a positioning operation within a specific area includes a system server and a communication device. The system server receives training location data corresponding to m training locations, wherein m is a natural number greater than 1, and obtains a first set and a second set of parameters according to m sets of training location data respectively corresponding to m training locations by way of conversion. The communication device downloads a part or an entire of the first set and the second set of parameters from the system server, establishes a positioning function according to the downloaded part or entire of the first set and the second set of parameters, determines to-be-positioned location data of a to-be-positioned location, and substitutes the to-be-positioned location data into the positioning function to generate positioning result data corresponding to the to-be-positioned location of communication device.
