Abstract: Techniques for asynchronous rendering are described. An apparatus may comprise a character set converter application, an index server, and a ranking application. The character set converter application may receive a search string comprised of one or more first character set characters, and convert the search string to one or more second character set characters that are different than the first character set. The index server may execute a search on the converted search string to obtain ranked individual search results. The ranking application may compare any first character set characters in the ranked individual search results to the first character set characters in the search string and sub-rank the ranked individual search results based on the strength of any matches. Some embodiments include determining a single set of potential pixel values for an intermediate image, the single set of pixel values being determined from the first motion vector and the second motion vector and creating the intermediate image from the single set of potential pixel values.

Abstract: In a method for determining highlight segments of a sport video, the sport video having a plurality of image frames is analyzed to recognize a scoreboard image and a plurality of scoreboard characteristics thereof. The scoreboard image comprises at least one of the scoreboard characteristics. Then, a request message showing at least one recognized scoreboard characteristic is displayed on a user interface to receive a user response, wherein the user response includes a recognized result of one of the scoreboard characteristics. Finally, variations in the recognized scoreboard image among image frames can be monitored according to the user response. Therefore, the highlight segments of the sport video can be determined according to the variations.

Abstract: A method capable of detecting a scoreboard in a program includes detecting a region which displays static images in a program having a plurality of frames, identifying the text contents of the region, and determining whether the variation in the text contents is larger than a predetermined value and occurs conforming to a predetermined rule. If the variation in the text contents is larger than the predetermined value and occurs conforming to the predetermined rule, the method signifies that the region displays the static images corresponding to a scoreboard.
