  • Patent number: 7953015
Abstract: A method for ensuring reliability in a network is disclosed, including: distributing, based on service flow, services to multiple home functions entities of the coupled function entity, where the multiple home function entities have identical functional characteristics in the network; taking over, by a first home function entity operating normally, work of a second home function entity to be switched if determining to switch between the multiple home function entities. Through the method, if one or more of the multiple home function entities is in failure, other home function entities may take over work of the function entities in failure, which ensures the continuity of data flows of services and prevents the services from being interrupted, greatly improves reliability and load balancing ability of end-to-end QoS architecture. Furthermore. There is no limitation on network architecture and the method is applicable to networks with any scales.

  • Patent number: 7706388
Abstract: A method for guaranteeing service reliability in an end-to-end Quality of Service framework is provided. The method includes checking whether connection information held in all node equipment gone through by a session connection is consistent. If the connection information is consistent, the consistency check is completed. Otherwise, the inconsistent connection information is released from the node equipment. In the provided method, a consistency check is performed inside every node equipment, and between node equipment in the network, and thus, abnormal resources may be retrieved, so that network service ability will not be affected by abnormal situations. Consistent with the provided method, degradation of service ability because of network abnormity can be avoided, and network reliability and availability can be improved.

  • Patent number: 7633958
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for implementing cross-domain resource management. If requesting for service connection resources, for each domain, a border Call Agent (CA) first sends a connection resource request to a specific bearer network resource manager in its domain. This bearer network resource manager decides whether the destination user's device is in its administration domain. If yes, it makes an appropriate processing and returns a response of a successful processing to the CA it belongs to; if not, the bearer network resource manager performs an appropriate preprocessing and sends back a response of a successful preprocessing to the CA it belongs to, and after receiving the response, the CA sends a connection resource request to its next-hop CA.

  • Publication number: 20070286203
Abstract: The embodiments of this invention disclose a method and system for forwarding traffic in a bearer network. The method includes: a CA related to a service call instructing a bearer network resource manager managed by the CA to allocate a QoS policy and reserve resources for the service call; the bearer network resource manager issuing the QoS policy to an edge device in a management domain managed by the bearer network resource manager; the edge device forwarding traffic matching the QoS policy after bearer network resource managers managed by CAs related to the service call successfully allocate QoS policies and reserve resources. With the embodiments of this invention, the bearer network may be controlled precisely whether to forward traffic, and thus it may be avoided effectively that traffic is imported into the bearer network before the service connection is established so as to acquire exact service data amount.

In this invention, consistency check is performed inside every node equipment, and between node equipment in the network, and thus, abnormal resources may be retrieved, so that network service ability will not be affected by abnormal situations. When the network is of large scope, consistency check can be done according to signaling flow sequence for establishing a session connection. When an inconsistent situation is detected, the node equipment gives a feedback to its upstream node equipment. Usually, there is a great quantity of sessions on a network, so it is better to carry out consistency check in batch for decreasing spending.
