  • Publication number: 20240084356
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to methods of synthesizing a peptide by associating at least one isolated ribosomal RNA (rRNA) fragment with a plurality of transfer RNA fragments linked to amino acids (tRNA fragments). The at least one rRNA fragment includes at least one domain that associates with the tRNA fragments. The at least one rRNA fragment catalyzes the synthesis of the peptide through peptidyl transfer of the amino acids from the tRNA fragments independently of messenger RNA (mRNA) templates. Additionally, the peptidyl transfer occurs independently of proteins. Further embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to systems for synthesizing a peptide. • Publication number: 20210056948
Abstract: An acoustic focusing probe, which is an artificial periodic acoustic structure, including a background material which is water or air, and a plurality of scatterer units in a cross shape. The periodic array structure formed by scatterer units is arranged on the base, and a contour thereof is an ellipse. The present invention is based on the basic principle of controlling acoustic waves by phononic crystal and adopts a new probe structure. Compared to the existing acoustic focusing lens, the acoustic focusing probe of the present invention has a better acoustic focusing effect in various media and a wider range of low and medium frequencies. The probe can focus most of the energy of the acoustic waves to the target area, and thus it can be used in non-invasive ultrasound equipment in the future.

  • Publication number: 20210041395
Abstract: A method of measuring dissociation of the biomolecular bonds in one or multiple sample wells using super-resolution force spectroscopy (SURFS). SURFS utilizes precise ultrasound radiation to exert an acoustic radiation force on the biomolecular bonds labeled with magnetic particles. The force-induced dissociation of the protein bonds labeled with magnetic particles may be measured as a reduced magnetic signal by a magnetic sensor. The force resolution allows for differentiating biomolecular bonds with an extremely high level of precision. The biomolecular bonds include protein-protein, protein-nucleic acid, nucleic acid-nucleic acid, small molecule-protein, and small molecule-nucleic acid interactions.

  • Publication number: 20080135447
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a packaging, storage and display system for articles, such as small tools, like drill bits and the like. An index for holding the articles is pivotably mounted in a case. A rack, which may be selected from a variety of rack structures, is mounted within the index, for holding articles having particular sizes and shapes. A frame structure is resistively pivotably mounted on the index, so that the frame structure may be pivoted to a particular position relative to the index, and will tend to remain in that position, until a force in excess of a particular amount is exerted on the frame structure. The index and/or the frame structures may be interchangeably mounted.
