  • Publication number: 20060083883
Abstract: A multi-layer resinous tube or container includes a PBN copolymer layer formed as a fuel permeation-interrupting layer and containing a copolymer of polybutylene naphthalate and polybutylene terephthalate. Another layer other than the PBN copolymer layer is provided containing at least one of polyester resin and polyester copolymer elastomer.

  • Publication number: 20050053742
Abstract: A resin tube has a multilayer resin structure. A first resin layer contains polybutylene naphthalate. Second and third resin layers are layers containing copolymer of polybutylene naphthalate and polytetramethylene glycol. The second resin layer is on an outer side of the first resin layer, and the third resin layer is on an inner side of the first resin layer. A fourth resin layer contains polybutyene terephthalate.

  • Publication number: 20040105946
Abstract: An automotive in-tank fuel hose which has excellent flexibility and is highly resistant to sour gasoline and to hydrolysis. The automotive in-tank fuel hose for installation in a fuel tank comprises a single layer structure formed by at least one of (A) a thermoplastic polybutylene terephthalate elastomer containing a dimer acid moiety and (B) a thermoplastic polybutylene naphthalate elastomer containing a dimer acid moiety. The automotive in-tank fuel hose follows a deformation of the fuel tank and absorbs vibration caused by a fuel pump.

  • Publication number: 20040018328
Abstract: A resinous tube for piping in a fuel system of an automotive vehicle. The resinous tube comprises at least one first cylindrical resin layer (A) including at least one resin selected from the group consisting of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polybutylene naphthalate (PBN), polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyethylene naphthalate (PEN). At least one second cylindrical resin layer (B) is formed generally coaxial with the at least one first cylindrical layer and includes at least one of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) copolymer and polybutylene naphthalate (PBN) copolymer. In this tube, a cylindrical resin layer forming an innermost layer of the resinous tube is electrically conductive, fuel being in direct contact with an inner surface of the innermost layer.

  • Patent number: 5728292
Abstract: A filter is provided for use with an in-tank fuel pump for an internal combustion engine. The filter is disposed within a fuel tank and includes a main filtration chamber connected to an inlet of the fuel pump and a return fuel chamber connected to the engine for introducing thereto return fuel from the engine. The main filtration chamber has an upper side peripheral wall formed from a meshed filter medium. The return fuel chamber is connected to the main filtration chamber in such a manner that the upper side peripheral wall of the main filtration chamber serves as a partition wall between the main filtration chamber and the return fuel chamber. In one embodiment, the return fuel chamber has a peripheral wall formed from sheet or plate impermeable to fluid.
