  • Publication number: 20040051452
Abstract: An organic EL display apparatus comprises a panel substrate provided with light emitting devices and driving electrodes for driving the light emitting devices, the light emitting devices and the driving electrodes forming a light emission region and an electrode region, and a sealing substrate adhered to the panel substrate through a sealing resin. The sealing substrate is provided with a relief portion for the sealing resin at its portion opposed to the outside of the light emission region L in the condition of being adhered to the panel substrate. The relief portion prevents the diffusion of the uncured sealing resin toward external electrodes beyond it, thereby securing conduction between the external electrodes and external terminals and promising a higher reliability and a higher yield of the display apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20040016506
Abstract: A laminating apparatus includes: applying means for applying a resin material onto laminating surfaces of a device substrate; and laminating means for laminating a sealing glass onto the device substrate to which the resin material has been applied. The applying means is capable of applying the resin material to a plurality of portions on the laminating surfaces such that an air escape passage is formed between the device substrate and the sealing glass. The laminating means is capable of expelling the air toward outside through the air escape passage when the laminating force is applied between the device substrate and the sealing glass along the air escape passage, and of laminating the sealing glass such that the applied resin material becomes continuous so as to form a thin film layer.

The sealing panel (20) includes a color filter (22) on a substrate for sealing (21). The drive panel (10) and the sealing panel (20) are disposed to face each other, and the whole facing surfaces of the drive panel (10) and the sealing panel (20) are bonded together with an adhesive layer (30). The adhesive layer (30) is cured with at least heat, and is made of only one coating liquid or a combination of two or more coating liquids for curing. A temporary fixing portion (30A) is formed in an edge portion of the adhesive layer (30).

  • Publication number: 20030056342
Abstract: A slide fastener with a pull rotated type slider, which allows starting operation of the slider to be executed smoothly and easily. A U-shaped guide lever, which allows the pull to move around, is disposed on a periphery of a body of the slider. A guide face for an upper stopper of a pull guide portion with T-shaped section provided on the U-shaped guide lever is formed in an arc face or an inclined face. Consequently, even if the U-shaped guide lever and the upper stopper contact each other, the upper stopper can be guided smoothly by the guide face, thereby the slider being started easily.

  • Patent number: 6522053
Abstract: A field emission display having element including a first electrode, and a second electrode laminated to the first electrode through an insulating layer. The first electrode has an opening; the second electrode has a hole of a planar shape corresponding to that of the opening at a position matched with the opening; and the insulating layer has a through-hole continuous to the opening and the hole. An upper edge portion of the hole is formed into a cross-sectional shape having an edge angle in a range of 80 to 100°, and at least part of the upper edge portion of the hole is exposed in the through-hole. In this element, electrons are emitted from the second electrode through the upper edge portion of the hole exposed in the through-hole by applying a specific voltage between the first electrode and the second electrode. With this configuration, a distance between the gate electrode and a field emission portion of the cathode electrode can be accurately controlled with a simple structure.

  • Publication number: 20020190639
Abstract: A display unit has R, G, and B light-emitting pixels arranged in a predetermined sequence. The R pixels and the B pixels each have a G-light-absorbing filter at the image display side (light output side or external-light incident side) thereof. The G pixels have no filters. The R and B light-emitting pixels each have a composite structure including a reflective layer, an organic EL layer, and a translucent reflective layer. The translucent reflective layer and the reflective layer constitute an optical resonator that causes multiple interference of light. The transmittance of the G-light-absorbing filter is minimized at the G wavelength, at which the sensitivity of the naked eye is high, and maximized at the R and B wavelengths. Furthermore, the external light reflectance of each pixel is minimized at the G wavelength. This display unit significantly suppresses a decrease in contrast caused by external light without a decrease in luminance of an image.

  • Publication number: 20020131008
Abstract: Light-emitting devices are formed on a support substrate, whereas a black matrix is provided on a transparent opposed substrate. The support substrate and the opposed substrate are adhered to each other in the condition where the display devices are sealed with an adhesive resin and the adhesive resin is charged between the support substrate and the opposed substrate. In this case, alignment of the support substrate and the opposed substrate is conducted so that the surface of the opposed substrate provided with the black matrix is faced to the surface of the support substrate provided with the light-emitting devices and the black matrix is disposed faced to the spaces between the light-emitting devices. The alignment is conducted by disposing alignment marks provided on the surface of the support substrate provided with the light-emitting devices and alignment marks provided on the opposed substrate into a predetermined condition.
