    Abstract: A disclosed apparatus includes a memory and circuitry that is configured to execute an operating system, and realize one or plural logical domains that provide a predetermined function as a computer and a hypervisor that manages the logical domain. The operating system is configured to: detect hardware to be diagnosed; upon detecting the hardware to be diagnosed, secure a memory area in the memory, which is used for diagnosis by the operating system; instruct a kernel of the operating system to ignore an error that will occur in the secured memory area; and output a diagnosis request that instructs to ignore the error and includes designation of the hardware to be diagnosed to the hypervisor. The hypervisor is configured to execute: upon receipt of the diagnosis request, perform a setting to ignore the error that will occur; and perform the diagnosis for the hardware.

    Abstract: An information-processing apparatus includes a main system that presents a function as the information-processing apparatus and has a function of acquiring time information from a time server, and a subsystem managing the main system. The main system starts up in start mode which is either an ordinary-start mode or a specified mode provided to acquire the synchronized time information from the time server based on a start-mode instruction issued from the subsystem. The subsystem starts up the main system in the specified mode when starting the main system being at rest, wherein the subsystem revises management-system time obtained from a clock device, which is controlled by the subsystem, based on the synchronized time information acquired through the main system started in the specified mode, and restarts the main system in the ordinary-start mode by determining the revised management-system time to be initial time used to start the main system.

    Abstract: A virtual machine management program and virtual machine management method capable of executing a program distributed by a server computer with a virtual machine of a previously designated version number. A setting file acquisition section acquires setting files from a server computer. A virtual machine association section registers the association of identification information with version numbers in a management table on the basis of the setting files acquired by the setting file acquisition section. An execution control section then acquires distribution object programs from the server computer, refers to the management table, and selects virtual machines the version numbers of which correspond to the identification information for the distribution object programs from among virtual machines. The selected virtual machines execute the acquired distribution object programs.
