  • Publication number: 20010014293
Abstract: In a compressor with a scroll compression mechanism having a stationary scroll and a movable scroll, a bearing through which the movable scroll is rotatably connected to a crank portion is disposed in a bearing box. The bearing box is provided for defining a back side room into which high-pressure refrigerant discharged from a discharge hole of an end plate of the movable scroll is introduced. The back side room is partitioned from the compression room by the end plate of the movable scroll to be opposite to the compression room, and a seal member which is disposed to air-tightly partition the back side room and a suction room of the compressor. Thus, a discharge pressure of refrigerant is applied from a back side of the movable scroll only at a position corresponding to the back side room. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce a compression thrust force without using a pressure adjustment valve.

  • Patent number: 6234768
Abstract: Refrigerant passages in a compressor include an upper refrigerant passage and a lower refrigerant passage. The upper refrigerant passage is positioned above a datum line extending through a center of a rotor shaft of a compressor motor and perpendicularly to the rotor shaft, and the lower refrigerant passage is positioned below the datum line. A cross-sectional area of the upper refrigerant passage is larger than that of the lower refrigerant passage. Thus, even when lubricating-oil blocks the lower refrigerant passage, the refrigerant flows through the upper refrigerant passage, thereby reducing the pressure loss of the refrigerant, and preventing the lubricating oil from being caught in the refrigerant and discharged with the refrigerant from the compressor.

  • Patent number: 6217297
Abstract: An electric motor-driven compressor is positioned closer to the center of gravity of an engine than a compression mechanism, and is mounted in such a manner that an axial direction of an electric motor is parallel to a crank shaft of the engine. Therefore, a vibration force produced by the engine and applied to the electric motor is reduced.

  • Patent number: 6196817
Abstract: A first lubricating oil passage and a second lubricating oil passage, extended from a contacting surface between a partition wall and a fixed scroll are formed in the partition wall (middle housing). A recess for communicating the first lubricating oil passage with the second lubricating oil passage is formed on the fixed scroll. Accordingly, the lubricating oil amount between the first lubricating oil passage and the second lubricating oil passage is easily controlled by adjusting the size of the recess.

  • Patent number: 6158980
Abstract: Lubricant oil, separated from compressed fluid and stored in an oil storage chamber formed beneath a motor, is introduced via an internal oil supply passage to an attachment groove formed for installing a main bearing. The lubricant oil passes through the main bearing, and flows toward a compressor. The lubricant oil is also supplied to an oil supply hole formed inside a rotation shaft of the motor via lubricant oil grooves, and lubricates and cools a needle bearing. Accordingly, axial length of housing protruding portion is reduced, and thereby reducing an entire axial length of the electrically-driven compressor apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5920985
Abstract: A movable scroll element for a scroll type compressor is produced by a combination of a mold casting process and a machining process. The mold casting process produces a cast product having an end-plate forming portion, a spiral-member-forming portion and a projecting portion for forming a drive power receiving portion. The cast product has an entire outer faces covered with black scale, and the machining process machines the end-plate-forming portion, a spiral member forming portion, the projecting portion by cutting. Nevertheless, at least an outer circumference of the drive power receiving portion, i.e., a boss portion of the movable scroll element is covered with an outermost layer consisting of black scale. Thus, a sufficient mechanical strength of the movable scroll element is obtained even if the wall thickness of the drive power receiving portion, i.e., the boss portion of the movable scroll element, is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5807089
Abstract: A scroll type compressor having a housing unit in which a movable scroll element and a stationary scroll element are received in such a relationship that the movable scroll element orbits about the center of the stationary scroll element. The scroll type compressor further having a mechanical reinforced rotation preventing unit for preventing rotation of the movable scroll element about its own axis, and the rotation preventing unit having first stationary pin fixed to an inner end face of the housing unit and second movable pin fixed to an end face of a base plate of the movable scroll element, and a ring engaged with the first and second rings. A thickness T1 between the outer circumference of the first pin and the inner edge of the inner end face of the housing unit is set to be equal to or larger than 2.4 mm. A thickness T2 between the outer circumference of the second pin and the outer circumference of the base plate of the movable scroll element is set to be equal to or larger than 2.7 mm.

  • Patent number: 5531579
Abstract: A scroll type compressor has a fixed scroll in a housing and a movable scroll opposed to the fixed scroll to define a compression chamber with the fixed scroll. Gas introduced into a suction chamber via an inlet is compressed in the compression chamber and then is discharged to a discharge chamber via a discharge port to exhaust the compressed gas from an outlet to the outside of the compressor in accordance with the circular movement of the movable scroll. A part of the discharge chamber is defined in the fixed scroll. An outlet flange protrudes from the fixed scroll. The outlet flange includes the outlet which communicates with the discharge chamber.
