Abstract: A method of generating and linking programs required in a data linkage system to link data among a plurality of computer systems, for example a mainframe and an open system, is provided. In the data linkage system with a means for data transfer via a storage device, a program generation tool is prepared in the open system. The program generation tool reads a data stream definition and generates an intermediate file area securing program and a data linkage program A, both run on the mainframe, and a data linkage program B run on the open system. These programs are linked with one another. The intermediate file area securing program and the data linkage program A are transferred to the mainframe where they are executed.

Abstract: An electronic photography system which displays an image shot by an electronic image capturing unit. The electronic image capturing unit includes an optical path, an image pickup for converting a focused image to electronic image data, an information inputting device for adding attribute data to the image data, and a storage for storing the image data and attribute data in mutually associated relationship. The system further includes the unit for classifying the image data on the basis of the attribute data for grouping the image data into album groups, and selecting, the album group to display the image data included in the selected album.

Abstract: A data warehouse system includes a first database configured to receive first data from a first client, a data warehouse configured to receive second data corresponding to the first data from the first database after an interval to enable a second client to access the second data, and a dynamic database configured to receive third data corresponding to the first data from the first database prior to receipt of the second data by the data warehouse in order to provide the second client with access to the third data prior to the availability of the second data to the second client.

Abstract: In an information sending and receiving system in which an information sending equipment and at least one information receiving equipment send and receive information through a transmission medium, a management message is sent from the information sending equipment to the information receiving equipment thereby to create a list of a content code expressing a data message registered on the information receiving equipment side within the information receiving equipment. Then, a data message containing a content code and data is transmitted from the information sending equipment to the information receiving equipment. The information receiving equipment selects a data message by comparing a content code of a data message and a list of its own content code. The content code list may be created within the information sending equipment based on a property value in an answer message from the information receiving equipment.

Abstract: Information associated with broadcasting, information associated with a network, and information associated with a package are included in data. A terminal device has means for acquiring data from broadcasting, data from the network, and data from the package. The terminal device further has a means for displaying the data acquired by the above-mentioned means together or a means for displaying information included in the data as a link. This novel constitution allows positive information provision to users by a combination of three types of media, broadcasting, network, and package. At the same time, this novel constitution allows provision of new services by making the most of mass storage provided by package and up-to-date information provided over network.

Abstract: A definition tool of the present invention declares columns which are concealed in external tables to a multi-database server. The multi-database server controls a decomposition and an execution of query messages such that the multi-database server does not perform an arithmetic using the concealed columns. The external database server encrypts the data of concealed columns in tables of query result tables. The multi-database server designates a range to be decrypted at the time of acquiring and integrating respective result tables. A client program acquires an integrated result table and decrypts the designated range. Since the data encrypted by the external database server is decrypted by and is referred to the client program, it becomes difficult for the multi-database server to refer to a content of the concealed columns.

A processing unit for performing the access-privilege decision on the level of the virtual tables by using the definition contents of the information, and a processing unit for converting the virtual table access privilege into the integration-target-DB access privilege are provided. System structuring working on the AP (application) side and that on the integration-target DBMS side can be carried out easily in parallel to reduce the load imposed on the system structuring working.

Abstract: The present invention provides techniques for answering a user's query to a database system. An embodiment provides a database querying method in which a first data item is obtained from a Data Base Management System (DBMS) database table in response to a query request. A second data item is obtained by referencing a DBMS updated log file, having log data associated with the first data item, for example a timestamp. The first and second data items are then integrated and returned as an integration result to the query request. In one embodiment the first and second data items are integrated in a virtual table in accordance with a predetermined business rule.
