  • Patent number: 10914707
Abstract: A reference electrode according to the present invention maintains continuity between an internal solution and measurement sample and measures the electrical potential of the measurement sample even if the measurement sample in a liquid junction of the reference electrode has air bubbles mixed therein. This reference electrode is provided with: a second body provided with a second internal solution chamber in which a second internal solution is housed and a liquid junction portion disposed in the second internal solution chamber such that the second internal solution and measurement sample that is to be measured come into contact; and an internal electrode disposed inside the second internal solution. The liquid junction portion is formed from a conduction component formed from a porous or fibrous component and an aperture adjacent to the conduction component.

  • Patent number: 5188459
Abstract: A measuring instrument for receiving radiation through an opening in a housing and having a protective shield member across the opening. The protective shield member is sealed against the housing to project a flexible contact portion at above ambient pressure for contacting and conforming to the surface of an object. A flexible dome on the protective shield member can pump air into the protective shield member to provide the desired internal pressure. The protective shield member is relatively thin and reaches thermal equilibrium with the object in a relatively short period of time, when the measuring instrument is a radiation thermometer.

  • Patent number: 5172978
Abstract: A radiant thermometer for detecting infrared rays coming from an object along an optical axis to determine its temperature is provided with an improved aiming system. An exterior housing supports an interior housing that mounts the detector having an opening for receiving the infrared rays. A visible sighting light source is provided in the exterior housing behind the detector. A peripheral lens system is mounted between the interior and the exterior housing to provide a cone shaped transmission of light having a larger field angle than a field angle of the detector. The cone shaped transmission of light is capable of being focused on the optical axis for aiming the radiant thermometer.
