  • Patent number: 9243300
Abstract: A method of reducing the acid concentration within gastric fluid, suppressing a tendency towards a strongly acidic pH within the gastric fluid, and inhibiting the production of gastrin involves the step of administering live or killed lactic acid bacterium (such as Lactobacillus johnsonii No. 1088) to a living subject. The invention also relates to a method of alleviating the side effects caused by continuous administration of a proton pump inhibitor by administering live or killed lactic acid bacterium to a living subject.

  • Patent number: 6523235
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a ceramic capacitor relates to a ceramic capacitor having metal plate terminals that absorb thermal stress and mechanical stress caused by flexure of the substrate. A ceramic capacitor element is provided with terminal electrodes at the two side end surfaces facing opposite each other. The metal plate terminals are each connected to one of the terminal electrodes at one end thereof, are each provided with a folded portion in a middle area and a terminal portion to be connected to the outside toward the other end from the folded portion.

  • Patent number: 5648455
Abstract: Antibiotics WAP-8294A, A.sub.1, A.sub.2, A.sub.4, AX, AX-8, AX-9 and AX-13 or pharmeceutically acceptable salts thereof produced by a strain belonging to the genus Lysobacter; a method for producing the foregoing antibiotic WAP-8294A comprising the steps of cultivating, in the culture medium, a microorganism belonging to the genus Lysobacter and having an ability of producing the antibiotic WAP-8294A to produce the antibiotic and accumulate it in the culture medium; then recovering the antibiotic; as well as an antibacterial composition comprising the antibiotic or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof are herein disclosed. The novel antibiotic WAP-8294A has an excellent therapeutic effect on infectious diseases developed by infection with Gram-positive bacteria, in particular, MRSA and, therefore, the antibiotic is effective for treating diseases including MRSA infectious diseases developed through infection with Gram-positive bacteria as infectious bacteria.
