  • Patent number: 7201501
Abstract: A lighting device for a vehicle includes multiple light emitting devices. Each light emitting device is constructed of a light emitting diode as a light source and a light guide lens for guiding light emitted from the light emitting diode. The light emitting devices are formed in convex light emitting devices and fan-shaped light emitting devices. The convex devices and the fan-shaped devices have different light distribution characteristics. Therefore, light distribution areas and intensity of the lighting device are more flexibly adjusted than other lighting devices using light emitting diodes as light source.

  • Patent number: 6658337
Abstract: A headlamp's optical axis control system for a vehicle includes a infrared light camera for detecting an object on a road in front of the vehicle and a headlamp's optical axis actuator. The headlamp's optical axis is changed according to a vehicle speed and position of the object relative to the vehicle so that the illumination range of the headlamp can cover the object if the object is judged to be out of the illumination range.

  • Patent number: 5499166
Abstract: A lighting device for use in a vehicle which has a lighting unit for receiving light from a light source and emitting the received light. The lighting unit is provided with an optical fiber for receiving light from the light source and emitting the received light and an optical waveguide directly connected to the optical fiber for directly receiving the light emitted from the optical fiber and emitting light which has a desired luminous intensity distribution. Thereby, the lighting unit can have a simple structure and can be provided at low cost.
