  • Publication number: 20030168972
Abstract: An organic EL display in which organic EL devices are prevented from being degraded because of interfaces occurring between the luminescent layers and the electron transporting layers. In each of the organic EL devices, a red luminescent layer, a green luminescent layer, and a blue luminescent layer are formed on a hole transporting layer. An electron transporting layer is formed on the blue luminescent layer alone. The red luminescent layer and the green luminescent layer have the same thickness as the sum of the thicknesses of the electron transporting layer and the blue luminescent layer.

  • Publication number: 20030156678
Abstract: A noncontact type signal transmission device performs noncontact transmission of signals between a first member and a second member by using light. The second member moves along a predetermined orbit relative to the first member. A plurality of light-emitting devices are arranged on one of the first and second members. A plurality of light-receiving devices are arranged on the other of the first and second members. Light emitted from the light-emitting devices is received by the light-receiving devices. Beam condensing devices are disposed between the light-emitting devices and the light-receiving devices. Each beam condensing device has a function of condensing light from the light-emitting device in a direction substantially perpendicular to the orbit. The function of each beam condensing device is to increase the amount of light received by each light-receiving device and to improve light reception sensitivity.

  • Patent number: 6606558
Abstract: In a navigation device (Unv), a processor 1 reads directional object data (Ddr) from a storage 4 onto a working area 3. The directional object data (Ddr) has a message plane and a plain plane, thereby representing a directional object whose planes are each facing in a different direction. Based on the positional relationship between the user's current position and the directional object, the processor 1 determines whether to render the message plane or the plain plane of the directional object. In the case of the message plane, the processor 1 renders it opaque. On the other hand, the processor 1 renders the plain plane transparent or translucent.

  • Publication number: 20030089305
Abstract: A glass bottle containing a sample of an organic material to be purified is located at a position surrounded by a heater near one end in an outer glass tube. An inner glass tube for catching organic crystals obtained by recrystallization is located at a position near the other end in the outer glass tube. When the sample of the organic material is sublimed and purified, the inside of the outer glass tube is kept in a higher vacuum state (lower pressure) than 200 Pa by a vacuum pump. The sample inside the outer glass tube is heated by the heater, to sublime organic molecules of the sample contained in the glass bottle. The outer glass tube is provided with a temperature gradient, so that organic molecule vapor is cooled near the other end in the outer glass tube, and is recrystallized inside the inner glass tube.

  • Publication number: 20030071563
Abstract: A display capable of preventing an emission layer from deterioration resulting from temperature rise of an electrode also when the same is increased in size and easily connectable with an external current source also when the same is connected with the external current source on a single portion is provided. This display comprises a first electrode formed on a substrate, an emission layer formed on the first electrode, a second electrode formed on the emission layer, a peripheral electrode, arranged to enclose the outer periphery of the second electrode and connected with at least three edges of the outer periphery of the second electrode, having a smaller sheet resistance value than the second electrode, and a current source connection terminal connected to the outer periphery of the peripheral electrode. Thus, current readily flows from the second electrode toward the peripheral electrode, while the current can be dispersedly fed along three or four directions.
