Patent number: 7394771Abstract: In optical two-way communication using a single optical fiber, part of the light transmitted from an apparatus is received as stray light by the apparatus itself. This occasionally hampers accurate detection of disconnection from the partner apparatus and of the start of data communication by the partner apparatus after the establishment of connection. To overcome this, the timing with which an apparatus transmits a tone signal after the establishment of connection is compared with the timing with which the apparatus receives a tone signal from the partner apparatus, and the two apparatuses use different sets of data transmission properties (for example, different wavelengths) to accurately detect disconnection. Moreover, based on the properties of the received light and the characteristics of the receiving amplifier, repetition of the same code for longer than a predetermined period is detected to accurately detect disconnection.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2002Date of Patent: July 1, 2008Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Daisuke Nakano, Kazuyuki Sumi, Takashi Nishimura, Yuji Ichikawa, Fumihiro Fukae

Patent number: 7333518Abstract: A transmission method according to the present invention is capable of transmitting and receiving a data signal and information signal among a plurality of devices by full-duplex operation, wherein, when the information signal consecutively repeats a single pattern, a different pattern is inserted between the same patterns before transmission thereof. This minimizes an adverse effect of crosstalk jitter over a transmission line susceptible to crosstalk, and reduces a margin between the transition and sampling point of a signal, thereby suppressing the cost of a CDR circuit.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2001Date of Patent: February 19, 2008Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Koji Sakai, Yuji Ichikawa, Masafumi Takahashi, Hitoshi Naoe

Publication number: 20060075459Abstract: When a distribution apparatus receives a distribution request packet from a new reception apparatus while distributing contents to a multicast address, the distribution apparatus transmits in return a distribution acceptance packet including the multicast address under the distribution. Then, receiving a packet of contents in multicast form from the distribution apparatus, the reception apparatus transmits to the distribution apparatus a request for distributed data that includes the serial number of the firstly-received packet as well as a buffer size necessary for starting reproduction. The distribution apparatus then reads necessary packets from a distributed data buffer to transmit to the reception apparatus the distributed data in descending order from the serial number 51 in intervals of the multicast distribution.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 11, 2003Publication date: April 6, 2006Inventor: Yuji Ichikawa

Patent number: 6137156Abstract: On a TEOS (tetraethyl ortho silicate) film and a surface of an aluminum wiring formed on a P-type silicon substrate, there is formed a low hydrogen content plasma SiN film on which a high hydrogen content plasma SiN film is laminated. The low hydrogen content plasma SiN film is lower in content of hydrogen than the high hydrogen content plasma SiN film. Accordingly, even when hydrogen is about to go toward and into the P-type silicon substrate side from the high hydrogen content plasma SiN film, the entry of hydrogen is blocked by the low hydrogen content plasma SiN film in which amount of Si--H bonds is reduced.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1998Date of Patent: October 24, 2000Assignee: DENSO CorporationInventors: Yuji Ichikawa, Yasushi Tanaka, Yasuo Souki, Ryouichi Kubokoya, Akira Kuroyanagi, Hirohito Shioya
