  • Patent number: 6724984
Abstract: A hair treatment promoting apparatus in which a reflector provided with a heater for radiating infrared rays is rotated by a motor so that the infrared rays are radiated to the top, back and both sides of a head of a subject. The heater and reflecting plate form a heating device rotated by the motor and a disk is provided which rotates with the motor. The disk is provided with a slit for a home position and slits for stopping arranged on both sides thereof, and energization of the motor is interrupted when the slit for the home position is detected within a prescribed time elapsed from when the slit for stopping is detected in the direction of rotating the heating device, thereby stopping the heating device at the home position.

  • Publication number: 20030103767
Abstract: In a hair treatment promoting apparatus in which a reflector provided with a heater for radiating infrared rays is rotated by a motor so that the infrared rays are radiated to the top, back and both sides of a head of a subject, the motor is located on an extended line of an ascending/descending rod for supporting the hair treatment promoting apparatus so that the center of gravity of the entire apparatus is located on the line. In this configuration, since the motor which is relatively heavy is located on the axial line of the ascending/descending rod attached to the main pole of the moving stand, the hair treatment promoting apparatus is held in a stable state. Therefore, even if the apparatus is caught by any protrusion on the floor when the apparatus is moved for operation, it does not easily fall down.

  • Patent number: 5268988
Abstract: A hair treatment apparatus includes a rotary arm having an air flow passage, an electric fan for blowing air through the passage to an outlet for impingement onto the hair being treated and an electric heater installed in the passage for heating the air. The rotary arm is rotatably attached at a tiltable angle to an obliquely downwardly facing body cover supported on a support rod and housing an electric motor driven drive mechanism for reciprocally rotating the arm in a path defining a conical surface about the body cover. The tilted angle of the arm is adjustable to change the apex angle of the conical surface described by the arm during rotation. The rotary drive mechanism can slip should the arm be blocked by an external force. A photo sensor position detecting arrangement controls the limits of the reciprocal rotation of the rotary arm.

  • Patent number: 4910382
Abstract: A hair drying apparatus consists of a curved radiation element for radiating of infrared rays and a reflector for supporting the radiation element and for reflecting infrared rays radiated from the radiation element. A rotating member is provided for rotatable support of the pivotal motion of the reflector. The hair drying apparatus has a drive engagement for activating a rotating member which includes a slip clutch mechanism stopping the rotation of the rotating member when the radiation element and the reflector strike an object during the rotation.
