Patent number: 4831891Abstract: A power transmission device for a tractor in which a main shifting device and a secondary shifting device are disposed in front and back of one another within a transmission case which is mounted on a rear part of the tractor body is disclosed. Drive power, which is transmitted from an engine, is changed in speed by the main shifting device and secondary shifting device and then transmitted to an axle through a differential shaft. The differential shaft is disposed between the main shifting device and secondary shifting device. A lower link for connecting a piece of agricultural machinery is pivotably connected to the transmission case on the side of the secondary shifting device and behind the differential shaft. Various shafts within the transmission case are arranged on two different vertical level above and below the differential shaft, which extends at right angles with respect to these shafts. The differential shaft is connected to the axle through a reduction gear apparatus which has a counter-shaft.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 1987Date of Patent: May 23, 1989Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Yukio Kato, Sadanori Nishimura, Yuji Kishizawa

Patent number: 4785682Abstract: A power transmission device for use in a motor vehicle in which an engine is mounted on the front part and a transmission case is mounted on the rear part of the vehicle. A plurality of shifting shafts are axially supported within the transmission case in parallel with one another. Between these shift shafts, a plurality of shifting gear trains, which are engaged and disengaged by a hydraulic clutch, are provided. One of the shifting shafts is connected to the output side of a wet multi-disc main clutch which is disposed in a separate chamber within the transmission case. The input side of the clutch is connected to the engine. An oil pump is disposed within the transmission case. Oil discharged from the pump is controlled by a control valve and is then supplied to the respective oil clutches and bearings through an oil passage disposed along the wall of the transmission case and an oil passage disposed in the axial direction within the shifing shaft.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1987Date of Patent: November 22, 1988Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Sadanori Nishimura, Yuji Kishizawa, Yukio Kato

Patent number: 4746145Abstract: A chassis frame in a rider-controlled working vehicle comprises a front frame member having a substantially channel-shaped cross section opening downwardly, a central frame in the form of a tubular body having a substantially rectangular cross section, and a rear frame member having a substantially channel-shaped cross section opening upwardly, the front, central, and rear frame members having confronting ends joined in interfitting relation. A front wheel differential is housed in the front frame member, and an engine is supported on the front frame member by rubber mounts. A power output shaft operatively coupled to the engine is disposed in the front frame member and has a front end positioned within a front end of the front frame member so as not to project forwardly therefrom. A cover plate is detachably attached to the front frame member below the power output shaft.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 1986Date of Patent: May 24, 1988Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Noriyasu Furuichi, Masahiro Yamamoto, Yuji Kishizawa, Kenji Nakamura

Patent number: 4324306Abstract: An improved engine supporting structure for a motorcycle wherein a power unit is constructed integrally of an engine, a crankcase and a transmission case and is subjected to pivotal motions with respect to the frame together with a rear wheel. The engine is so arranged that its main axis of inertia is substanially horizontal, and the engine constituting a part of the power unit is pivotally connected to the lower end of a link which in turn has its upper end pivotally connected to the frame. The link is so arranged that its upper and lower pivots are substantially in a vertical line, and the rear portion of the power unit supporting the rear wheel is connected to the frame through a shock absorber. In this manner, the transmission of engine vibrations to the frame is restricted, the following characteristics of the rear wheel in the longitudinal direction are improved, and the riding quality is improved.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 1979Date of Patent: April 13, 1982Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Takeo Ishihara, Hidehiko Inoue, Yuji Kishizawa, Tsutomu Hayashi
