  • Patent number: 9586514
Abstract: In a vehicle with a load-carrying platform, an elastic band is provided so a rear portion of a tailgate and a rear portion of a bed extender enter a tensioned state. A rotation regulation mechanism is provided to the tailgate and the bed extender that regulates further rotational movement by the tailgate and the bed extender making contact when the tailgate is rotated towards a closed position. The bed extender and the tailgate are prevented from rotating in the same direction by the rotation regulation mechanism, and the load on the elastic band is mitigated.

  • Patent number: 8251268
Abstract: A front carrier includes an outer frame pipe surrounding the periphery, and a cross pipe and a back-and-forth member which are provided inside the outer frame pipe. A front side portion of the outer frame pipe is lowered at a one-step to form a stepped bottom portion. The back-and-forth member is disposed to extend obliquely downwardly from the cross pipe toward the stepped bottom portion. In addition, the widthwise inside portion of the rear side portion is bent to be forward to form an end side portion, which is joined to the cross pipe to be flush with the back-and-forth member. Thus, a cargo support surface formed by the cross pipe, the back-and-forth member and the end side portion is surrounded by an outer frame portion higher at a one-step than the cargo support. Part of the outer frame portion is allowed to serve as a cargo stopper for the cargo.

  • Patent number: 7604082
Abstract: To provide a swing arm structure capable of suppressing the required rigidity of a cross member to a low level to reduce the weight of the cross member. In a swing arm structure, a swing arm includes a pair of left and right arm bodies with a cross member spanning therebetween. Ends of the swing arm suspend rear wheels. A rear wheel-driving rear drive shaft, connected to a rear final reduction gear unit, is placed above the cross member. As viewed laterally, the cross member is contained within the profile of each arm body and is formed to be trapezoidal in section such that its bottom portion is broader than its upper portion.

  • Patent number: 7451857
Abstract: A brake caliper support structure and a brake caliper structure for a saddle-ride type all terrain vehicle can attain a reduction in size and weight of a disc brake and can scrape off mud and snow accumulated within a wheel. A distance from a point which represents the center of a front wheel to each of points which represent the axes of bolts located at the same positions as the caliper support portions or the first and second mounting portions of the caliper bracket is set longer than the distance from the point to a point which represents the center of a piston. A brake hose is to be prevented from undergoing an excessively large deflection during steering or during vehicular vibration.

  • Patent number: 6619702
Abstract: An extension portion extending outwardly is integrally formed on the edge of an end portion of an exhaust pipe; a collar is fixed on the outer periphery of the end portion of the exhaust pipe by caulking; and the edge of the outer end of the collar is abutted against the extension portion. The aforementioned arrangement provides a connection portion of an exhaust pipe for an engine which is intended to rigidly connect the exhaust pipe to an exhaust port of the engine, to prevent gas leakage by eliminating the occurrence of clearance at the connecting portion, to reduce the flow resistance of exhaust gas in the exhaust pipe, and to reduce the production cost of the connection portion.
