  • Patent number: 9397953
Abstract: In one embodiment according to the present invention, a virtual server collects the configuration information of a physical server being executed with granularity corresponding to the degree of operation verification defined in a business operation system including as a component the virtual server and stores it as checked and passed environmental information of the virtual server. When a new virtual server is allocated to the business operation system, a physical server group to which the virtual server is allocated is determined on the basis of the checked and passed environmental information of the virtual server. Hereby, a method of allocating resources enabling both the reliability guarantee of the business operation system and the cost reduction associated with operation check is realized.

  • Publication number: 20160055044
Abstract: [Object] Proposed are a fault analysis method, a fault analysis system and a storage medium which improve the availability of a computer system. [Solution] Monitoring data is continuously acquired from a monitoring target system comprising one or more computers, and behavioral models which are obtained by modeling the behavior of the monitoring target system are created at regular or irregular intervals based on the acquired monitoring data, the respective differences between two consecutively created behavioral models are calculated and, based on the calculation result, a period in which the behavior of the monitoring target system has changed is estimated, and a user is notified of the period in which the behavior of the monitoring target system is estimated to have changed.

  • Publication number: 20150229644
Abstract: Provided is an access control method of a terminal which is coupled with an administration device in a schedule storage unit, location information corresponding to a timestamp of a possessor of a terminal. The terminal acquires location information and timestamp information, and transmits to the administration device an identifier of the possessor of the terminal, the location information, and the timestamp information. The administration device compares the received user's identifier, the received location information, and the received timestamp information, with location information which corresponds to the timestamp of the possessor. If it is determined that a conflict has occurred with the location information and the timestamp information, a current task state of the possessor is estimated from history information of a person associated with the possessor, and the task state is transmitted to the terminal. The terminal controls access to applications and data according to the received task state.

  • Patent number: 8381038
Abstract: An operation management system 12 alleviates the burden on an administrator 103 who carries out reappearance monitoring of a failure that occurred in a computer system 11. The operation management system 12 detects one or more detected events occurring in the computer system 11, and selects a first causal laws code 180 included in a causal laws information 168 based on the causal laws information 168 and the detected event. The operation management system 12, in a case where the composition of the computer system 11 has been changed to eliminate the cause of generation of the detected event, selects a second causal laws code 180 included in a post-change causal laws information 168 based on the post-change causal laws information 168 and the first causal laws code 180, and notifies the administrator 103 of information related to the selected second causal laws code 180.

  • Patent number: 8356208
Abstract: To quickly establish an inferring result when a problem is detected in an operation management system equipped with a rule-based inference processing function, there is provided a method of collecting information for managing a computer system equipped with a plurality of devices. The computer system holds rule for associating a plurality of events with a conclusion output when all of the plurality of events have been detected. The method includes: executing, at a first interval, polling to obtain information indicating whether each of the plurality of events has been detected; judging whether the plurality of events have been detected; and executing, upon judgment that at least one of the plurality of events has been detected and none of the remaining events have been detected, before execution of next polling at the first interval, polling to obtain information indicating whether at least one of the undetected remaining events has been detected.

  • Patent number: 8209511
Abstract: A storage management apparatus performs migration considering an I/O load that will be generated during migration between a source array group and a destination array group. To migrate data from the source array group to the destination array group, a bandwidth that is available for use between the source and destination array groups is calculated. A volume that is within the source array group, and that has a write I/O amount that is smaller than the calculated bandwidth, is selected as the source volume for the migration, wherein the write I/O amount is the information transmission amount of information that is written. Data is thus migrated from the selected volume to the movement destination array group.

  • Patent number: 7844575
Abstract: A data migration method is provided which can provide a user at a low cost with a function of migrating data from an existing storage when an additional storage is installed. A business application is operated by using a business server and a first storage. When the capacity and performance of data used by a business application become insufficient, a second storage is installed to compensate for insufficiency. In this case, the management server collectively copies data and configuration information of the first storage to the second storage, the data and configuration information are deleted at a later time in accordance with migration command information selected from a GUI screen. It is therefore possible to migrate necessary data and configuration information of the first storage to the second storage, without making a user be conscious of the details of the configuration information of logical devices of a storage.

  • Publication number: 20070180087
Abstract: A rule evaluation unit classifies users into users of fixed PC allocation and users of dynamic allocation according to the user utilization characteristic and stores the classification result in a user classification table. When a user makes a PC utilization request, a PC allocation unit allocates a predetermined PC to a user of fixed PC allocation and allocates an empty PC in the PC pool to a user of dynamic allocation. Moreover, a volume rearrangement unit executes volume migration so as to equalize the I/O performance of the physical disks in the storage device according to the user utilization characteristic.
