    Abstract: This invention relates to a cushioned dust control mat or article wherein the mat comprises at least two distinct layers of rubber, one comprising foam rubber, the other comprising solid rubber and has a plurality of star-shaped protrusions in the upper surface thereof. Also, the surface of the mat between the protrusions is ribbed or recessed. The solid rubber layer is present over the foam rubber layer on the top side of the mat in which the plurality of star shaped rubber protrusions are present to provide cushioning characteristics. The solid rubber layer acts as a cap or barrier for the foam rubber layer, particularly over the star shaped protrusions, in order to provide a mat which is resilient, will not easily degrade in its modulus strength after appreciable use and/or washing within industrial cleaning processes, and will not exhibit appreciable cracking or breaking, particularly within the star-shaped protrusions, after standard use for pedestrian traffic.

    Abstract: A mat, in which a pile yarn is tufted onto a base cloth and the entire or a part of pile shape is a cut pile. A part of or the entire pile yarn on a mat surface comprises a twist yarn formed by twisting two or more temporary twist yarns together. Each temporary twist yarn is formed by twisting a paralleled yarn comprising a great number of single yarns of one-kind fiber selected voluntarily from BCF nylon, vinylon, rayon, acryl, polyester and cotton; and one or more nylon monofilament single yarns. A number of kind of paralleled yarn fiber is one or two or larger in the entire temporary twist yarn of the twist yarn. In this mat, merits of both: conventional outdoor and indoor mats, can be provided and demerits of them can be compensated.

    Abstract: A separate mat for rent comprising a mat body made up of a mat portion having mat piles implanted on the front surface of a base fabric and an elastomer backing blended with a magnetic powder on the back surface, and a thick frame-like-peripheral portion of an elastomer; and a base which supports the mat body and has a magnet rubber spread on a support surface. In the mat body, the back surface of the outer periphery of the mat portion and the upper surface of the peripheral frame of the mat are superposed one upon the other and joined together as a unitary structure. The base rubber is inserted in the back side of the mat body. Therefore, no step is formed between the mat body and the base yet the two are adhered very strongly. Besides, no wrinkles develop on the mat surface and homogeneous adhesion is accomplished. The mat is further excellent in fixing performance and stability, and can be easily attached or detached, and is very light in weight compared with the mats of the unitary structure.

    Abstract: By introducing an expanded structure into a rubber portion during heating under pressure at the time of integrating a mat, and by using as a backing of a carpet a foamed rubber sheet having an expansibility of 1.2 to 3 times and a skin layer having a thickness of 0.1 to 1.0 mm, the shrinkage of the mat by shrinking, washing and drying after heating under pressure can be relaxed, and the waving of the mat can be prevented effectively. At the same time, the mat of the invention has excellent fitness to a floor surface, light-weight, strength and heat resistance.

    Abstract: In a mat composed of a base cloth, a pile tufted thereto, and a rubber backing applied to the non-pile surface of the base cloth, a cotton-like layer composed of a woven cloth of a polyester textured yarn non-adherent to the rubber and a filament or staple which layer is needle-punched is used. In this mat, weakly adherent regions at which the woven cloth and the rubber portion contact each other and strong adhesive regions at which the cotton-like layer and the rubber portion content each other are formed in dots in a large distribution. Waving deformation during repeated use is prevented.
