    Abstract: Burrs which have formed on a testing piece during machining a groove or notch in the testing piece can be removed by a method of using machining wherein a cutting edge is pressed onto a surface of the testing piece where the burrs have formed, and is moved in this condition from an opening of the groove along the testing piece to trim these burrs off. A tool employed to carry out this method comprises a body including a cushion mechanism, a holder which is supported on one surface of this body through the cushion mechanism, and the cutting edge which is fixed to this holder.
