  • Patent number: 4899224
Abstract: A two-dimensional recording head is provided which controls respective windows of a liquid crystal cell array to open and close for light and can hold them in the opened and closed states. A light source is disposed at one side of the head, at the other side of which are disposed an image-forming lens system for exposing a recording medium to an image formed on the head by the opened and closed states of the windows. A controller is provided for controlling the quantity of light which is applied to the recording medium. The image is written into the head by a binary image signal and the exposure is started, with the written image held unchanged. The controller stops the exposure when the quantity of light applied to the recording medium reaches a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 4896945
Abstract: A first transparent substrate has formed thereon a plurality of sequentially arranged first transparent electrodes and a plurality of individual cell drive lines each connected to one of them. A second transparent substrate has formed thereon at least one transparent electrode opposite the first transparent electrodes and first and second common drive lines each connected to one side of the second transparent electrode. The first and second transparent substrates are disposed opposite one another with a gap defined therebetween and the gap is filled with liquid crystal to form a liquid crystal cell array. Voltages of different magnitudes are applied to the first and second common drive lines to simultaneously form substantially the same voltage gradient in the second transparent electrode in all of cell windows, and at the same time, voltages corresponding to pixel signals are applied to the individual cell drive lines, respectively, thereby controlling the aperture ratios of all the cell windows.

  • Patent number: 4511642
Abstract: Photo-fixing heat-sensitive recording media which comprise diazonium salts, couplers and/or basic materials, all of these components being insoluble or sparingly soluble in water. At least one of these components is present in the media in the form of a fine powder. The coupler may be a coupler which has a basic group therein and serves as both a coupler and a basic material.

  • Patent number: 4365254
Abstract: Two-color recording paper comprising an ink film and a thermosensitive recording paper which are separably mated together. The ink film has a thin film base and an ink layer of a first hue coated on the film base. The ink layer contains a mixture of a colored material such as dye with a thermoplastic material which is solid at ordinary temperature and becomes fluid at high temperature. The thermosensitive recording paper has a substrate and a coloring layer coated on the substrate. The coloring layer contains a developer which colors in a second hue different from the hue of the ink layer. The ink film and the thermosensitive recording paper are overlapped separably with an ink surface of the ink film and a coloring surface of the thermosensitive recording paper facing each other.

  • Patent number: 4271416
Abstract: A recording head is provided with a slit-like issuing opening, and a plurality of divided electrodes which have a very small width are disposed in or adjacent to the slit-like issuing opening in very closely spaced apart relationship. An opposite electrode is disposed in front or back of a recording paper. The ink which is filled in the slit-like issuing opening and is adjacent to the divided electrode which is selected is emitted as a drop by the potential difference between the ink adjacent to said selected divided electrode and the opposite electrode.
