Abstract: The present invention relates to a transmitter, a receiver, and a broadcast data delivering method, and more particularly, to a transmitter, a receiver and a broadcast data delivering method, which broadcast data from the transmission side through a broadcast delivery path which uses a broadcast wave as a medium, and which receive the broadcast data on the reception side. The present invention provides a transmitter, a receiver, and a broadcast data delivering method, which implement more efficient data retransmission based on results of reception at the receiver. A retransmission request receiving unit receives a retransmission request from the receiver, and a retransmission request storing unit stores the retransmission request. Subsequently, a retransmission control unit selects a transmission path utilized for retransmitting data from a broadcasting path and a bidirectional communication path, based on the retransmission request, and retransmits the data.

Abstract: A recording apparatus is provided for recording data and block units together with management information for the block units of data as a track in the recording area of a non-erasable recording medium. The apparatus detects the recording status of the non-erasable recording medium. Based upon the detected recording status, the apparatus reserves a particular part of the track for recording management information. The apparatus records the management information in the reserved recording area.
