    Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a processor that processes the image data of the image stored in a memory in order to detect a face area with a face captured therein and an orientation of the face from the image, and controls the screen brightness of a display unit based on the orientation of the face detected by the processing. When the detected face orientation falls within a preset first angle range, the processor determines that the face orientation is a first orientation, and even when the detected face orientation is out of the first angle range, the processor determines that the face orientation is the first orientation depending on the amount of change in the detected orientation of the face changing in a direction of the first orientation.
