  • Patent number: 8956057
Abstract: An optical fiber connector comprises a ferrule having a rear end, a chuck located rearward of the ferrule, a ring having a front end, and a coil spring. The ring is attached to the chuck so as to surround the chuck. The optical fiber connector holds an optical fiber which is inserted from a rear end of the optical fiber connector. In detail, when the optical fiber is inserted into the optical fiber connector, an end of the optical fiber passes through the chuck to be accommodated in the ferrule. The coil spring presses the ring forward (toward the ferrule) so that the chuck is squeezed to hold the inserted optical fiber. When the ring is moved rearward by a stopper inserted between the rear end of the ferrule and the front end of the ring, the chuck is released to release the optical fiber.

  • Publication number: 20140342701
Abstract: A data server to authenticate a passenger anonymously and allow an outside service to provide a service on the basis of this authentication. A passenger in an automobile uses a portable terminal with an acceleration sensor to send the acceleration sensor log in the portable terminal to a data server. The data server calculates the degree of similarity between the acceleration sensor log and time-series data related to acceleration obtained from probe data acquired from the automobile, and verifies that the portable terminal is indeed inside the automobile by confirming that there is a sufficiently high correlation between the log and the time-series data. The data server provides an access permission code to the portable terminal in response to successful acceleration authentication. The portable terminal provides the access permission code to an outside service, and the outside service accesses probe data in the data server using the access permission code.

  • Patent number: 8891760
Abstract: A server having an automaton whose state transitions in accordance with received characters, determines whether the automaton has transitioned to a final state on the basis of the characters. The server receives a coding sequence from the client in the characters included in the string. The coding sequence elements corresponding to the characters are values encrypting a non-unity using a first encryption scheme having homomorphism, and whose elements not corresponding to the characters are values encrypting a unity using the first encrypting scheme. The server generates, in response to receiving the coding sequence, exchange data encrypting a subsequent state key corresponding to each of a plurality of previous states of the automaton on the basis of the coding sequence using the first encryption scheme; encrypts exchange data with the corresponding previous state key and sends the encrypted exchange data to the client.

  • Patent number: 8713691
Abstract: A system which implements a method for providing attribute data. A request is received from a user device via a network for a virtual ID token relating to attribute information pertaining to a subscriber associated with the user device. A data record including L attributes of the subscriber is read from a database, L being at least 2. The data record is provided to the user device via the network. A selection of M attributes of the L attributes is received from the user device via the network, M being less than L. A virtual record including the M attributes selected from the data record is generated, the virtual record including a virtual ID (VID) for identifying the virtual record. The generated virtual record is stored in the database. The virtual ID token is provided to the user device via the network, wherein the virtual ID token includes the VID.

  • Publication number: 20140075205
Abstract: A method is provided to process data so that the data can be externally stored with minimized risk of information leakage. A framework (virtual execution framework) based on virtual machines (VMs) is utilized as a substitute for a trusted institution. Encryption of consolidated data can reduce risk of information leakage and enhance security. Since the virtual execution framework can control connection and direction of communication, financial institutions are allowed to apply encryption to data on their own, which makes the data further appropriate for external storage. By allowing financial institutions to apply their own decryption, it is possible to prevent one of two financial institutions from retrieving externally stored data into the external execution framework without intervention of the other. Additionally, associated acting subjects can be provided with freedom depending on the degree of information leakage risk.

  • Patent number: 8641438
Abstract: In an electronic device, a slider is disposed in an insertion opening of a housing of a card edge connector. The slider is movable with an insertion operation of a circuit board into the insertion opening from an initial position before the circuit board is inserted to an insertion completed position where the insertion operation of the circuit board is completed by being pushed by the circuit board. When the slider is at the initial position, terminal projections are supported on a support surface of the slider in a resiliently deformed condition so that contacts are separated from an electrode-formed surface of the circuit board. When the slider is at the insertion completed position, the terminal projections are completely separated from the slider and in a state of applying a spring back force of resilient deformation to the circuit board through the contacts.
