  • Patent number: 5801023
Abstract: This invention provides compounds of the following chemical formula or their pharmaceutically-acceptable salts: ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen or chloro. Also, the present invention provides a process for the production of the compound of formula I, which comprises cultivating a microorganism having the identifying characteristics of Aspergillus fischeri var. thermomutatis ATCC 18618 or the like, and then isolating the compound of formula I from the fermentation broth. The pyrrolobenzoxazine compounds of formula I of this invention have broad antiparasitic activity, and thus are useful as antiparasitic agents, especially as anthelmintics.

  • Patent number: 5674732
Abstract: The present invention provides a novel culture which belongs to Actinoplanes (Actinoplanes sp. FERM BP-3832). This culture is capable of producing rapamycin more than ten times efficiently than the cultures which have been reported (e.g., Streptomyces hygroscopicus ATCC 29253). The present invention provides a process for the production of rapamycin which comprises cultivating Actinoplanes sp. FERM BP-3832 and thereafter isolating rapamycin from the fermentation mixture.

  • Patent number: 5494820
Abstract: A compound of the formula ##STR1## is a novel immunosuppressant agent prepared by fermenting Steptomyces braeaensis subsp. pulcherrimus, ATCC 55150, or another compound of the formula I producing strain and extracting the compound of the formula I from the fermentation medium. The compound is useful in treating transplant rejection and autoimmune diseases.

  • Patent number: 5448924
Abstract: A behavior monitoring system for a rotary body is capable of monitoring displacement of the rotary body in a plurality of directions. The behavior monitoring system comprises an inclined surface formed on the rotary body and extending in oblique to a rotational axis, and a sensor means for detecting displacement of said inclined surface.

  • Patent number: 5345829
Abstract: A method for predicting abnormality of a mechanical seal comprises detecting a displacement in the radial direction of a slidable ring of a mechanical seal and predicting abnormality of the mechanical seal from the displacement detected which represents the extent of adhesion of the slidable ring against the rotary shaft.

  • Patent number: 5067733
Abstract: A mechanial seal having a split seal ring which is covered by a support ring over the outer face with a predetermined gap and is fastened in a circular shape by a O ring inserted in the predetermined gap. The split seal ring is easily assembled by a tool which includes a split ring body. The split ring body has a basic inner face contacting to a surface of a rotary shaft, an end face contacting to the end face of the split seal ring an a projection for inserting the O ring into the gap.

  • Patent number: 5066134
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fluid agitator which may stir fluid in a closed space without leakage of the fluid. The fluid agitator has a motive means and a bearing means installed in the closed space. In the fluid agitator employing a electric motor as the motive means, only the stator coil of the motor which is weak in its resistance against high temperatures and humid atmosphere is sealed in a sealing chamber. The sealing chamber may be provided with a cooling device to cool the inside thereof. The driving shaft of the motor is supported by a bearing having resistance to high temperatures and high humidity and is provided with an agitating blade. In the fluid agitator employing a turbine system as the motive means, a turbine chamber and a turbine blade are set in the closed space. A fluid supply is furnished to introduce fluid into the turbine chamber from outside of the closed space for driving and rotating the turbine blade.

  • Patent number: 4635457
Abstract: A double-layer coil for an electric motor is formed of a single continuous conductor with the two layers being wound simultaneously. A first length of conductor is wound about a pulley to form a coil and at the end of that coil but without breaking the conductor another coil is commenced to be wound about a rotating bobbin, with the coil of the first length wound on the pulley being caused to orbit the bobbin at a rate twice the bobbin rotation speed, whereby the conductor coil is unwound from the pulley and rewound on the bobbin at and the same time a further conductor is being wound about the bobbin to form a second coil, thereby forming both layers of the coil simultaneously.
