  • Patent number: 7715327
Abstract: A method of adaptively reassigning addresses of nodes according to changes in volume or a wireless network. The method includes receiving, at the node of the wireless network, information according to the changes in volume from a coordinator as a top level of the tree structure, calculating, at the node, a family tree indicating information and a location of the node in the tree structure according to an old logical address of the node and the information, and calculating a new logical address of the node according to the change in volume and the calculated family tree; and transceiving, at the node, a data packet according to the newly calculated logical address. Accordingly, overheads of the whole network for changing addresses may be reduced when changes in volume of the network occur, so that dynamic changes in volume of the network may be rapidly and actively implemented.

  • Patent number: 7564786
Abstract: A method to manage nodes in a ZigBee network. In a ZigBee network including a plurality of nodes, a multicast group is generated including at least two nodes among the plurality of the nodes. A multicast group coordinator (GC) which manages the multicast group is set among the nodes forming the multicast group. The multicast group includes the GC, a multicast group member (GM) requesting to join the multicast group, and/or a multicast router (MR) which links GMs to each other or links the GC and the GC. Accordingly, since the GC manages the multicast group, the load is decreased and the packet data transmission rate is enhanced.

  • Patent number: 7532598
Abstract: A method for flooding a route request packet that is received at a node in a communication system constructed of at least three nodes including a source node that requests to establish a route and a destination node that receives the route request. One of a plurality of levels having different transmission periods is determined using a strength of a received signal of a measured packet. A transmission start point is selected at the determined level, and it is determined whether a route request packet is re-received before the selected transmission start point. The received packet is broadcast at the selected transmission start point when the packet is not re-received. The transmission start point is randomly selected within the transmission period or at the level in consideration of the number of the connected nodes.
