  • Patent number: 7570279
Abstract: A mirror driver drives deflection mirror surfaces into a pivoting action at a frequency belonging to a first drive frequency band in which the high-frequency side of a first resonance frequency band partially overlaps the low-frequency side of a second resonance frequency band, so that the deflection mirror surfaces deflect a light beam. Hence, the deflection angles of light beams change, while canceling out each other the changes of the deflection angles of the light beams deflected by the deflection mirror surfaces owing to changes of resonance characteristics. Because of this, even when the resonance characteristics change, it is possible to stabilize the deflection angle of the light beam deflected by the first deflection mirror surface and further deflected by the second deflection mirror surface.

  • Patent number: 7557822
Abstract: A scan-beam detection signal Hsync provided by horizontal synchronous sensors 60A, 60B is inputted to a drive signal controlling section 10Y as a drive period signal related to a drive period of a deflective mirror. The drive signal controlling section 10Y controls a drive signal Sd such as to establish a predetermined relationship between a phase of a reference signal Sr and a phase of the horizontal synchronous signal Hsync, whereby a deflector 65 is allowed to operate in synchronism with the reference signal Sr. Therefore, a latent-image forming position with respect to a sub-scan direction Y is adjusted by way of the phase adjustment between the reference signal Sr and the horizontal synchronous signal Hsync, so that a linear latent image is prevented from deviating with respect to the sub-scan direction Y.

  • Publication number: 20090161177
Abstract: An optical scanning device 65 is adapted to bring a deflector mirror plane 651 into independent pivotal motions about a first axis and a second axis perpendicular to each other. A mirror driver section including a first axis driver and a second axis driver is so controlled as to bring the deflector mirror plane 651 into pivotal motion about the first axis thereby deflecting a light beam L for scanning along a main scan direction. On the other hand, the deflector mirror plane 651 is pivotally moved about the second axis thereby to adjust the scanned beam L for its position on a photosensitive member 2 with respect to a subscan direction. Thus, even if the scanned beam is deviated from a reference scan position with respect to the subscan direction due to component tolerances or assembly errors, such a deviation can be corrected.
