  • Patent number: 7297743
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to significantly improve weather resistance over a long period of time of the cured product of the invention, while maintaining physical properties, such as tensile properties and rubber-like elasticity, at levels required of sealing compositions for use in general buildings. The curable composition of the invention is a curable composition which comprises a vinyl polymer having a reactive silicon containing group (a), such as a (meth) acrylic polymer having a reactive silicon containing group, a polyoxyalkylene polymer having a reactive silicon containing group (b), such as a polyoxypropylene having a reactive silicon containing group, and a plasticizer having an acrylic component (c), such as an acrylic polymer, and is reacted and crosslinked in the presence of moisture to provide a rubbery cured product.

  • Publication number: 20050038218
Abstract: There is provided a (meth) acrylic ester polymer having A silicon-containing functions group capable of crosslinking Through formation of a siloxane bond, or a composition comprising the polymer, which does not contain any environment-hostile aromatic compound derived from a solvent, and of which TVOC (total volatile organic compound) emission is less than 1,500·g/m3. There is further provided a method for producing a polymer comprising a (meth) acrylic ester monomer unit as a molecular chain and having a silicon-containing functional group capable of crosslinking through formation of a siloxane bond, which comprises polymerizing a (meth)acrylic ester monomer using a solvent not containing any aromatic solvents as a polymerization solvent.

  • Patent number: 6437071
Abstract: The present invention has its object to provide a curable composition giving cured products improved in residual tack (reduced in stickiness), with the physical properties insuring those tensile characteristics and rubber elasticity required of sealing compositions for general architectural use being retained. The present invention provides a curable composition which comprises (I) 100 parts by weight of a reactive silicon group-containing polyether oligomer with the percentage of the number of reactive silicon groups to the number of molecular chain terminals as determined by 1H-NMR analysis being not less than 85% and (II) 1 to 500 parts by weight of a plasticizer.
