  • Patent number: 9673600
Abstract: A grommet (10) is mounted on a burred part (54) formed on an inner periphery of a through hole (52) formed on a panel (50). The grommet (10) includes a small-diameter tubular portion (12), a large-diameter tubular portion (20) and a coupling (16) connecting the small-diameter tubular portion (12) and the large-diameter tubular portion (20). The small-diameter tubular portion (12) is held in close contact with an outer peripheral surface of the wire (60), and the a large-diameter tubular portion (20) is fit on an outer peripheral side of the burred part (54) of the panel (50). A rib (40) projects from an inner peripheral surface of the coupling (16) and covers at least a part of an inner peripheral surface side of the burred part (54) of the panel (50).

  • Patent number: 5457664
Abstract: A timepiece has movable indicator hands for the analog display of current time. An ambient state, such as ambient light intensity, presence of a person in a room, or infrared radiation is sensed. Whether or not time indication is necessary is determined depending on the ambient state. If it is determined that the ambient state indicates that time indication is not necessary, then the movement of the indicator hands is stopped to conserve energy and reduce noise. When the ambient state indicates that time indication is necessary, the position of the indicator hands is adjusted from a stop position to a position indicative of current time.

  • Patent number: 5425005
Abstract: A drive unit for a rotary decoration has a transmission gear train configured to include a damper such as a coil spring and is capable of imparting a visually elegant swing motion to the rotary decoration. A reciprocating stepping motor is capable of rotating or turning in both the forward and reverse directions to drive a rotary decoration in such a manner that the rotary decoration exhibits a reciprocative swing motion over a specified angular displacement. A memory circuit stores data for determining the drive timing of the stepping motor. A control circuit controls the stepping motor in accordance with the data stored in the memory circuit. The data represents the interval between drive pulses supplied to the stepping motor so as to cause the rotational speed of the rotary decoration to vary according to a sine curve.

  • Patent number: 5359577
Abstract: An alarm clock has an ambient light detector for controlling the illumination of a time displaying section. An alarm time which is selected by a user is stored in a memory. An alarm set switch is used to switch between alarm-on and alarm-off conditions. A photosensor detects the ambient light surrounding the alarm clock. The illumination of the displaying section is controlled so that the displaying section is illuminated only when the current time is within a predetermined time zone before the alarm time set by the user, the alarm set switch is in the alarm-on condition and the detected ambient light is below a predetermined level. The illumination of the displaying section is also controlled so that the display is illuminated while an alarm sound is being generated.
