Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a rotatable photosensitive member, a charging member, a developing device, a blade, a detecting portion, and a controller. The controller causes the photosensitive member to rotate through one full circumference or more on the following conditions during a predetermined operation: (i) a voltage which is a discharge start voltage or more is applied to the charging member, and (ii) an operation condition of the developing device is a first condition on which an amount of fog toner deposited from the developer carrying member on the photosensitive member is smaller than an amount of the fog toner on a second condition which is an operation condition of the developing device during a sheet interval before the image formation during the continuous image formation is interrupted.

Abstract: A character processing apparatus comprises: parameter memory means for storing type parameters; display means for displaying a list of a plurality of type vector fonts on the basis of the type parameters; selecting means for selecting a plurality of type vector fonts displayed by the display means; and converting means for converting each of the vector fonts existing in a designated interval in a vector font train which are input from input means and displayed by the display means into the type vector fonts selected by the selecting means, wherein the modified vector fonts which are frequently used and correspond to fundamental vector fonts are previously registered, and when modified vector font patterns are formed, the registered modified vector font patterns are displayed and selected, thereby enabling the parameters for the modified vector font patterns to be easily set.

Abstract: A document processing system for formatting document information in accordance with a format includes a disk apparatus which independently has a document file, an address table file, and a format information file. The document file stores the document information corresponding to predetermined regions. The address table file stores an address table corresponding to the document information. The format information file stores the format information corresponding to the document information. A control circuit, in response to a page designation, controls the three files to correct format information and address information for document information preceding the designated page.

Abstract: A graphic edge extracting apparatus includes a memory unit for storing graphic image data and a graphic edge pixel extracting unit for developing the graphic image data on a bit plane in a bit map memory in the memory unit and executing bitblt (bit block transfer: synthesis during drawing) processing a plurality of times, thereby extracting inner edge pixels of the graphic image.

Abstract: An image processing system receives image data on a pixel unit basis and converts it into a digital signal and processing it. This system includes: a binary image processor to image process one pixel of image data as a binary digital signal (binary image data); a multivalue image processor to image process one pixel of the image data as a multivalue digital signal (multivalue image data); a binary/multivalue converter to convert the binary image data into the multivalue image data; and a multivalue/binary converter to convert the multivalue image data into the binary image data. The binary image processor and multivalue image processor can transmit and receive data therebetween and can image process any of the binary image data and multivalue image data. The binary digital data is directly transferred to the multivalue image processor. The multivalue digital data is converted into the binary data by the multivalue/binary converter and thereafter, this binary data is transferred to the binary image processor.
