  • Publication number: 20240103414
Abstract: A fixing unit or device that can be used in an image forming apparatus includes a first heater element that is formed of a material that increases in electrical resistance with increases in temperature. A controller of the fixing unit is configured to vary a duty ratio of electric power applied to the first heater element during a start-up operation in which the temperature of the first heater element is raised to a target operating temperature. By varying the duty ratio during the start-up operation, changes in the resistance of the first heater element with the heating can be compensated. For example, the duty ratio can be increased during the course of the start-up to achieve the target operating temperature faster.

  • Publication number: 20230238290
Abstract: A defect observation method includes, as steps executed by a computer system, a first step of acquiring, as a bevel image, an image captured using defect candidate coordinates in a bevel portion as an imaging position by using a microscope or an imaging apparatus; and a second step of detecting a defect in the bevel image. The second step includes a step of determining whether there is at least one portion among a wafer edge, a wafer notch, and an orientation flat in the bevel image, a step of switching and selectively applying a defect detection scheme of detecting the defect from the bevel image from a plurality of schemes which are candidates based on a determination result, and a step of executing a process of detecting the defect from the bevel image in conformity with the switched scheme.

  • Publication number: 20220405905
Abstract: In learning processing performed before sample observation processing (steps S705 to S708), the sample observation device acquires a low-picture quality learning image under a first imaging condition for each defect position indicated by defect position information, determines an imaging count of a plurality of high-picture quality learning images associated with the low-picture quality learning image for each defect position and a plurality of imaging points based on a set value of the imaging count, acquires the plurality of high-picture quality learning images under a second imaging condition (step S702), learns a high-picture quality image estimation model using the low-picture quality learning image and the plurality of high-picture quality learning images (step S703), and adjusts a parameter related to the defect detection in the sample observation processing using the high-picture quality image estimation model (step S704).

  • Patent number: 9429322
Abstract: A glow plug (1) including a metallic shell (2) having a forward end portion (20) having an outer peripheral surface whose diameter increases toward the rear end side with respect to the axial direction, the forward end portion (20) coming into contact with a seat surface (55) formed on an internal combustion engine (50). The outer peripheral surface of the forward end portion (20) includes a first, second and third contact surfaces (21), (22) and (23), respectively, which differ in imaginary line angle from one another, the imaginary line angle of each contact surface being an angle which is formed, as viewed on a cross section including an axis C1, between two straight imaginary lines connecting inflection points of the contact surface at opposite ends of the contact surface. At least one of the contact surfaces is a curved surface which bulges outward.

  • Patent number: 8739591
Abstract: There are provided an electrode tip dressing apparatus and an electrode tip dressing tool for resistance welding, which are miniaturized by reducing a rotational driving-force of a dressing tool. By adjusting a curvature radius of a dressing portion 4 of a dressing tool 2, a contact width, wherein a top electrode tip 5 abuts to the dressing portion 4 of the dressing tool 2, is adjusted from a rotational center of the dressing tool 2 to the outer side of the dressing tool 2. Dressing work done with the dressing tool 2 is thus made to be constant at the whole area of the dressing portion 4, from the rotational center of the dressing tool 2 to the outer side of the dressing tool 2. Accordingly, excess dressing work, which brings decline of productivity, can be avoided, thus enabling to dress the top electrode tip 5 with the minimal dressing work. A rotational driving-power of the dressing tool 2 is thereby reduced, enabling to labor-save and miniaturize the electrode tip dressing apparatus.
