  • Patent number: 10157027
Abstract: A drawing unit configured to draw a print target content is instructed to draw a content and a predetermined element. Based on a notification from the drawing unit, which corresponds to the drawing instruction and has been made regardless of completion of drawing to the instruction, drawn data is acquired from the drawing unit. If the acquired data includes the predetermined element, a print apparatus is caused to execute printing based on the acquired data. If the acquired data includes no predetermined element, data is acquired from the drawing unit again without causing the print apparatus to execute printing based on the acquired data.

  • Patent number: 10150311
Abstract: A recording apparatus performs recording on a recording medium by using a tray having a plurality of slots, and includes a reception unit receiving information for specifying a detection position of the recording medium in a slot of the tray from an external apparatus, and a specification unit to specify the detection position. In addition, a control unit controls the recording apparatus so that, in a case where the recording medium is arranged in a first slot and no recording medium is arranged in a second slot, recording processing is performed on the recording medium arranged in the first slot, and recording processing is not performed in association with the second slot. Detection processing to detect a recording medium is not performed for a third slot which is not specified, and detection processing is performed for the first and second slots which are specified.

  • Patent number: 9444974
Abstract: According to the present invention, patch data is printed in such a manner that the length of a low-optical-density patch is small and the length of a high-optical-density patch is large. In addition, the measurement is performed by a sensor that measures at a constant scanning speed. Therefore, SN of a dark patch having a high optical density is improved, and a patch chart can be measured in a short time.

  • Patent number: 9098782
Abstract: According to the invention it is possible to determine in advance whether it is possible to correctly generate a conversion table for calibration or color profile correction even with respect to an unknown print medium, and to avoid the preparation of unsuitable parameters and the performance of unsuitable image processing based thereon. In order to achieve this the color of a subject print medium is measured and from the color measurement result it is determined, based on color measurement data from a test pattern printed on the print medium, whether it is possible to obtain parameters suited to the print medium. As a result it has become possible to avoid the preparation of unsuitable parameters to be associated with the print medium, and it has become possible to output images with a comparatively stable reproduction of color even where performing printing on a variety of print mediums.

  • Patent number: 8792134
Abstract: Conventional calibration patches are designed such that gradation values of the patches are determined, based on the overall length of a trajectory of a monochrome ink color in an L*a*b* space, so that distances between patches become uniform, and therefore provide low interpolation accuracy in a region where measurement values change non-linearly in accordance with the change in gradation. According to the present invention, gradation values of patches to be used for color calibration are determined so that the patches are closely arranged in a region where measurement values change non-linearly in accordance with the change in gradation. Thus, interpolation accuracy can be improved in a region where measurement values change non-linearly.
