    Abstract: An image scanning device includes a platen, an image scanning unit that scans at a single time documents placed on the platen and generates pieces of image data, and an image data processing unit that performs processing of the pieces of image data. When the image scanning unit generates pieces of first image data by scanning first surfaces of the documents, each of which is placed in one of predetermined areas on the platen, and generates pieces of second image data by scanning surfaces opposite to the first surfaces of the documents, each of which is turned over and placed again in the one of the predetermined areas, the image data processing unit associates one of the pieces of the first image data with a corresponding one of the pieces of the second image data for each of the predetermined areas, as image data of the front and back surfaces.

    Abstract: A steering angle detection device is provided with a plurality of rotation angle sensors and a plurality of control units. The rotation angle sensors are capable of at least continuously calculating a rotation speed while an ignition switch of a vehicle is turned off, and are provided so as to correspond to steering angle calculation units which calculate steering angle based on the rotation speed and a rotation angle acquired from the rotation angle sensors and midpoint information related to the neutral position of a steering member. Power supplies are provided on a per-system basis. The rotation angle sensors or the control units are capable of holding the midpoint information while the ignition switch is turned off. If a power supply abnormality resulting in power supply failure occurs in some of the systems, the control unit of the abnormal system acquires the midpoint information and the rotation speed from the control unit of a normal system when the ignition switch is turned on.

    Abstract: If the refrigerant amount balance control is executed, since degrees of opening of indoor expansion valves are narrowed in indoor units whose refrigerant superheating degrees are smaller than an average refrigerant superheating degree, amounts of refrigerant flowing into the indoor expansion valves are decreased. On the other hand, in the indoor unit where the refrigerant superheating degree is higher than the average refrigerant superheating degree, since refrigerant pressure on a downstream side of the indoor expansion valve is also decreased due to the degrees of opening of the indoor expansion valves being narrowed, the difference in pressure between the upstream side and the downstream side of the indoor expansion valve increases and an amount of refrigerant flowing into the indoor unit is increased. Accordingly, cooling ability of the indoor unit increases.
