  • Patent number: 10324523
Abstract: An image following a movement of a head of a user who observes an image is generated. At a drawing device 300, posture angle data to be received at a certain time after a time series of posture angle data that have already been received are predicted, and rendering processing is performed on an image based on the predicted posture angle data. A prediction algorithm for the posture angle data is roughly divided into two steps: (1) estimating a predicted time to receive the posture angle data; and (2) predicting the posture angle data at the predicted time. By rendering the image at the predicted time from the predicted posture angle data, a sense of delay felt when the image following the movement of the head of the user is presented is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20190180768
Abstract: The present invention relates to a signal processing apparatus and a signal processing method, an encoder and an encoding method, a decoder and a decoding method, and a program capable of reproducing music signal having a better sound quality by expansion of frequency band. An encoder sets an interval including 16 frames as interval section to be processed, outputs high band encoded data for obtaining the high band component of an input signal and low band encoded data obtained by encoding the low band signal of the input signal for each section to be processed. In this case, for each frame, a coefficient used in estimation of the high band component is selected and the section to be processed is divided into continuous frame segments including continuous frames from which the coefficient with the same section to be processed is selected.

  • Patent number: 10310595
Abstract: Provided is an image display device configured to display a free viewpoint image that tracks a movement of observer's head and trunk. The line-of-sight direction and trunk orientation of the user are individually oriented in a free viewpoint space displayed on a display device 500 based on posture information of the user's head and trunk, which are respectively obtained from a head motion tracking device 200 and a trunk motion tracking device 300. A behavior that is natural in real space can be represented by moving a line of sight to a front direction of the trunk on a space in a state where the line of sight does not match the front direction of the trunk. An unnatural UI that goes straight to the line-of-sight direction is prevented regardless of orientation of the trunk.

  • Publication number: 20190164558
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for processing an encoded audio signal is described. In one exemplary embodiment, the system receives an encoded low-frequency range signal and encoded energy information used to frequency shift the encoded low-frequency range signal. The low-frequency range signal is decoded and an energy depression of the decoded signal is smoothed. The smoothed low-frequency range signal is frequency shifted to generate a high-frequency range signal. The low-frequency range signal and high-frequency range signal are then combined and outputted.

  • Publication number: 20190149935
Abstract: The present technology relates to a sound processing apparatus and method, and a program for enabling more stable localization of a sound image. A virtual speaker is assumed to exist on the lower side among the sides of a tetragon having its corners formed with four speakers surrounding a target sound image position on a spherical plane. Three-dimensional VBAP is performed with respect to the virtual speaker and the two speakers located at the upper right and the upper left, to calculate gains of the two speakers at the upper right and the upper left and the virtual speaker, the gains being to be used for fixing a sound image at the target sound image position. Further, two-dimensional VBAP is performed with respect to the lower right and lower left speakers, to calculate gains of the lower right and lower left speakers, the gains being to be used for fixing a sound image at the position of the virtual speaker.
