  • Publication number: 20240390711
Abstract: A coated textile sleeve has a textile wall having a circumferentially continuous outer surface extending along a longitudinal axis between opposite open ends, wherein the textile wall is formed at least in part by flame-resistant multifilament yarn. An adhesive layer is bonded to the circumferentially continuous outer surface, and an impervious coating is bonded to the adhesive layer. The coated textile sleeve is stretchable axially and radially, thereby allowing the coated textile sleeve to flex and be easily assembled into close conforming, wrinkle-free relation about the bus-bar regardless of the number of bends and shape of the outer contour of an outer surface of the bus-bar.

  • Publication number: 20240213636
Abstract: A sleeve for providing protection to a bus bar interconnecting cells of a battery of an electric vehicle has a knit wall having a circumferentially continuous outer surface extending along a longitudinal axis between opposite open ends. The knit wall is formed by multifilament flame-resistant yarn having a denier between 30 tex to 420 tex. An impervious coating extends about the entirety of an outer surface of the knit wall.

  • Patent number: 11686022
Abstract: A wrappable, corrugated woven sleeve and method of construction thereof is provided. The sleeve includes a wall having opposite edges wrapped about a central axis into overlapping relation with one another. The wall has a plurality of layers overlying one another. Each layer includes warp yarns extending generally parallel to the central axis woven with fill yarns extending generally transversely to the warp yarns. Each layer includes a plurality of annular first bands and a plurality of annular second bands alternating with one another along the length of the wall. The first bands of each layer include monofilament weft yarn and multifilament weft yarn and the second bands of each layer include only one of monofilament weft yarn or multifilament weft yarn. The first bands overlie one another to form peaks and the second bands B overlie one another to form valleys, such that the wall has a corrugated contour.

  • Patent number: 11401631
Abstract: A wrappable, woven sleeve includes a wall having opposite edges extending lengthwise between opposite ends, with the opposite edges being wrappable into overlapping relation to bound a central cavity. The wall has a plurality of layers extending from one edge to the opposite edge and from one end to the opposite end in overlying relation with one another. Each of the layers include warp yarns and fill yarns woven together. The wrapped wall has a radially outermost layer and a radially innermost layer. The radially outermost layer has at least one of a first tightness and/or first width and the radially innermost layer has at least one of a second tightness and/or second width, with the first tightness and first width being greater than the second tightness and second width.

  • Publication number: 20190308385
Abstract: A self-wrapping sleeve and method of construction thereof is provided. The sleeve includes an elongate multilayered tubular wall having opposite edges extending along a longitudinal axis of the sleeve between opposite ends of the sleeve. The opposite edges are biased into a self-wrapping configuration about the longitudinal axis to define an internal cavity bounded by the tubular wall. The tubular wall includes a non-woven layer of intertwined fibers and a textile layer of interlaced filaments, wherein the non-woven layer is fixed to the textile layer via needled fibers of the non-woven layer being entangled with filaments of the textile layer.
